Show THE LEHI FREE PRESS, LEHI, UTAH- Dewey Barnhart Married in Ely High School F. H. Attend 27, mark- Saturday, September ed the wedding of Miss Marilyn Martin of Provo, and Dewey Barnhart. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Irwin Talboe of Provo and Mr. Barnhart a son of Mr .and Mrs. J. L. Barnhart, Lehi. Nuptial vows were exchanged . at Ely, Nevada. For the occasion the bride wore a becoming light gray suit, with corsage of rose buds. Miss Barbara Massey, a cousin, of Vernal, stood as her sole attendant. Best man's duties were performed by Irwin Talboe. The newlyweds are making their home in Ely. Mr. Barnhart attended the Lehi high school and graduated from the LDS Seminary. He was formerly employed in farming operations in American Fork and is now an employee of the Utah Construction Company, at Ely. Present for the wedding were the parents of the bride, Mrs. Barnhart, senior, Mrs. Fon Mrs. Ray Carlson and Miss Deon Curtis. They motored to Nevada, Friday evening, returning Saturday evening by way of the beautiful new highway through Delta. Prior to her marriage the bride elect was feted at a large open house shower. Mrs. Barnhart was hostess at her home. A large crowd attended the many beautiful gifts were presented. . War-burto- n, FORT WALL DUP CAMP TO MEET OCT. 8 The first meeting of the season of the Fort Wall Camp of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers will be held Thursday, October 9, at the home of Mrs. Gladys Peterson. Captain LaRue Prior said that those who would like to join are welcome. Hostesses with Mrs. Peterson, will be Mrs. Blanche Evans, Verlie Nelson and Adith Southwick. 4-- H Logan Convention The Lehi chapter of Future Homemakers of America sent three of its officers to Logan to attend the annual Fall convention. Janice Adamson, Kathleen Evans, secretary, and Adele Garrett, historian, report a gay and beneficial week-enThe convention was held Saturday, September 20, at the USAC campus. About 200 high school from all girls and supervisors parts of the state were present. They occupied the Rural Arts building. The theme for next year was discussed. The date for next years' convention was set as April 11, 1953, at the Lincoln high school. In the evening a banquet for all convention attendants was held in the Commons building. Following the banquet, the installation services were held. A group of 30 sixth grade stud ents from the Lehi Elementary school will assist in demonstrating social dancing at the annual Utah Education Association convention in Salt Lake City next week, according to Cecil L. Ash, principal. The children will be transported to Salt Lake City by bus to participate in the convention at the Newhouse Hotel. They will perform dances under the direction Arva of Winnifred Sorenson, Bone and Basil Dorton, who will demonstrate the proper way of teaching the dances. The children are part of a group from the Alpine School District who will demonstrate various types of rhythm games and dances. Other children are from Pleasant Grove and American Fork. Jantz: i and Bermuda weateri periences MISS JEDDA MERCER Miss Jedda Mercer Sets Wedding Date Mr. and Mrs. Charles Mercer are announcing the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter. Miss F. Jedda Mercer, to David P. Monson. Mr. Monson is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Monson of Mount Pleasant. The wedding will take place in the Manti Temple, Friday, October 17. A reception will be held that same evening in the First Ward church. The bride elect is employed in Civil Service at the Deseret Chemical depot. An honor gradu ate from Lehi high school, she was salutatorian for her class. of the yearbook, she was a member of band, orchestra and chorus, Boosters club, and an officer in G. A. A. and F. H. A. units. She attended Brigham Young University as a scholarship student. She was a member of the First Ward choir and taught in Sunday School. With a military record of over seas service in Japan, Mr. Monson is employed as engineering draftsman at Deseret. He attended Snow College for two years and the USAC in Logan for two years, where he was a Major in the R. O. T. C Co-edit- or Mr. and Mrs. William T.
