He is a nephew of Harold Jensen of Lehi, and since his return from Korea a few weeks ago, had made his home with his aunt, Mrs. S. O. (Thora) Peterson at Cedar Fort. Mr. Evans was injured Monday at about 8:40 a.m. when a hand grenade exploded. He suffered in juries of the arms, hip and face in the explosion, and amputation of one leg below the knee was necessary. According to depot officers, he was employed in removing fuses from grenades which were being renovated. One exploded and set off several other fuses in the immediate vicinity. Dean is a grandson to the late Julius Jensen who formerly operated a bakery in Lehi. His mother, Jennie Jensen Evans, died 9 years ago.
