PRESENTED; Garden Club Should the iris be accepted as the official flower to represent Lehi, was the paramount question takfn up at the meeting of the Ihi Garden Club, last Thursday. Club President Kate Fowler presented the advantages of using the iiis to symbolize Lehi. stating that the plant is very- hardy as well as beautiful and varied, requiring a minimum of water and care. It multiplies rapidly and has a particular dignity making it suitable for the most formal gardens as well as the more hum ble janis It also fits in well for curb planting as may be seen in residential sections of the state capital city. A formal acceptance of the sug gestion was made by the club. This was done with the reservation, however, that anone in the city may submit suggestions for other plants or shrubs as suitable for the city symbol.
