Manning, at the fun eral, held Wednesday at 2 p. m. in the Third Ward ChapeL The body lay in state at the home of a son, Harry G. Manning, who offered the prayer prior to leav ing for the church. Clive Beal, second counselor in the ward bishopric, conducted the services. Organist Donna Mitchell played the prelude and postlude and accompanied the vocal selections. Bishop William Hadfield offered the opening prayer. This was followed by a vocal solo, "My Faith in Thee," by Patsy King Rickford of Salt Lake City. The biographical sketch was read by a grandson, Carl Peck. Mrs. Vella Moser of Tooele sang "In the Garden," followed by President Virgil II. Peterson as the first speaker. President Peterson eulogized the fine traits of character of Mr. Manning, citing the wonderful pioneer heritage of the family. He spoke of the time his father and Mr. Manning had operated neighboring farms on the Jordan River, recalling personal experiences. Bishop Harold W. Barnes gave an impressive discourse on the worth of the souls of men, recalling the pleasant personality of Mr. Manning and his joy in church activity and helping others. Bishop Barnes spoke as a close associate with the Manning family in ball playing and other sports, describing them as true sportsmen. He expressed appreciation for the support given by the family members in ward projects and duties. Between speakers, Mrs Ruby Nielsen and Frances Trinnaman sang "Whispering Hope," as a duet. The closing song was "Coin' Home," by Ray Shelley of American Fork, accompanied by Mrs. Charles A.
