Attend State Fair Eighty members of the Lehi chapter, Future Fanners of Am erica, made their annual trip to the Utah State Fair on Monday. Bracken Lee, granted authority for the use of his name in conjunction with the enlistment of a platoon of Marines from Utah. This platoon will be known as "Governor Lee's The Utah Marine Platoon". Governor has appointed Master Sergeant Robert Kemp, of the Salt Lake District Headquarters Station, at Fort Recruiting the as Douglas, officer In charge of his platoon. ceremonies at the During Capitol today, Governor Lee presented Sergeant Kemp with a silk State Flag to be carried by the platoon during their eight weeks of basic training at San Diego, California. Sergeant Kemp commented on the high standards of the men who composed the two "Mormon Platoons" during World War II, and expressed his desire to en list the same caliber of men in the Governor's platoon. Young men of Utah who are interested in joining the Govern or's platoon, are urged to contact Sergeant Kemp, at the Federal Building in Salt Lake City, or at Fort Douglas.
