UNUSUAL PLANTS NOTED Causing considerable comment at the flower show was the entry of Haydee Adams, vigorous banana plants, which she has grown from small plants. Many visitors at the show were enabled to see banana plants for the first time. They grow new leaves each week or two, it was ex. plained, and continue fresh and green througout the winter, indoors. A stephonites entered by Mrs. J. F. Royle, sported clusters of flowers of wax-lik- e perfection. She started it from a leaf, given by a friend, two years ago. Judges rated the exhibit as an A- -l show, and expressed difficulty in selecting winners. First, second, and third prize ribbons and sweepstakes were given in all divisions, as well as the special gift awards. Judges commented on the large number of choice entries in the Junior section. Following the flower show large baskets of flowers were placed in the local theatres, hospital and business houses. Appreciation The' general committee of the Head Praises Lehi Organization Lehi Centennial Flower Show wish to express their appreciation to all who cooperated so well in making the exhibit a success. To all who placed entries in the show, to the many visitors and for the friendly words of pleasure, a hearty thank you, and a special thank you to Humphries for their fine exhibit There were over 500 entries placed, representing well over 100 families. Wishing success to all gardeners, and also wishing to thank all who presented the gifts, Mrs. Mable Jones, Chairman, E. B. Garrett Lela Evans, and Abraham Anderson. Mrs. Jones also voiced appreciation to the club members who aided in the handling of the show.
