The Best Present of AH HEALTH OFFICERS REPORT 350 CASES Landlords Urged To COMMUNICABLE DISEASES IN UTAH File Registration Data Local health officers and physicians reported to the State Department of Health a total of 350 resident cases of communicable diseases for the week ending December 13, 1946 as compared with 17,230 cases for the same week in 1945 and 342 cases for the previous week this year. Scarlet fever cases increased from 13 cases for the previous week to 31 cases this week. The 31 cases reported were pretty well distributed throughout the state. Chickenpox and mumps cases still preail in epidemic proportions, but show no marked increases over the previous week. Seven resident cases of tuberculosis were reported during the past week three cases from Salt Lake, two from Salt Lake county, and one each from Carbon and Uintah counties. For the second consecutive week no cases of tularemia have been reported which is particularly encouraging at this time of the year when tularemia ordinarily has its highest incidence. One case of undulant fever was reported from Salt Lake county and unpasteurized milk was the probable source of infection, according to the attending physician.
