JULY ? Lehi with other cities and towns in Utah county found relief from a period of more than 60 days without rainfall Tuesday night. The rain storm which started late in the evening continued intermittently until morning with occasional showers Wednesday. While the rainfall was not heavy it brought welcome relief to residents who were tiring of the long dry spell. Likewise the farming areas received a drenching which brought much needed moisture to the soil. The fall was heaviest north of Lehi. At the "Point of the Mountain" it was reported that at one"period the rain fell in such torrents that it made driving difficult. w 'iTvM t - i , . ill li---- Church services in the Lehi! ward chapels last Sunday were devoted largely to the commemoration of the Utah pioneers who trudged across the plains ninety-nin- e years ago to establish new homes and a future for themselves and their descendants. Tribute was paid to the hardy spirit of the settlers of Utah and the fortitude which enabled them to overcome the hardships and vicissitudes which confronted the white settlers in the western 1 - wild-.rnes- s. The comforts, the opportunities and the freedom, which are so much in evidence today were extolled as the legacv of the pioneer residents who created these blessings through earnest toil and patient sacrifice.
