Show I SUGAR BEETS AND MEAT In areas where sugar beets are grown, there is a very definite relationship between the production of sugar beets and the production of meat The production of sugar and meat are essential as they are z two of our most needed con foods. Sugar beets tribute more to the production of meat than any other crop grown in areas where sugar beets are nrrvH ured. To compare the calories produced in meat with other crops, we find that one acre of beets producing a crop will produce about 11.204.145 calories from the Dy products which include molasses, of pulp and beet tops. One acre wm acre pro barlev at 60 but. per duce about 8,983,500 calories. One acre of alfalfa haya producing 3 tons rer acre will produce iu,d, One acre of corn at 400 calories. 50 bu. per acre will produce 10,348,700 calories. Not only is it found that sugar lead the above beet crops in calories in meat per acre, crop of but sugar from a beets has about 7.778.5C5 calories. This makes a total of 18,982,710 calories produced per acie on a crop of sugar beets. One can see that a large acre age of sugar beets will do it's part in helping to insure a large pro duction of meat energy-nroducin- 15-to- n 15-to- 15-to- n SWARM DAY SUNDAY Bee Hive Swarm Day exercises for the Lehi Stake will be held Sunday, April 11, at 2 p. m. in the Lehi Fifth Ward chapel.
