MEN AND GLEANER STALLED TRUCK GIRLS BANQUET SAT. By R. L. Dubois Last Monday the Primary Grade School children of Fairfield had their first taste of school since May of last year, when they gathered at the gym and under the direction of Mrs. Margaret McMillan resumed their work. This ends one of the lonpst school vacations for the Fairfield school children, yet for more lifetimes than one. Although Mrs. McMillan is not a certified teacher, yet parents here feel she is well qualified, and since the local school adminstration has failed to furnish a teacher, they feel fortunate in securing her services. An appeal to every relief society organization in our district by Mrs. CH. Carson, sponsored by the lcal relief society, to prevent a blackout of the Fairfield school has met with splendid success hundreds pledging support. Plans are under way to seek assistance from every club and civic organization in the Alpine School District, to aid in retaining the school at Fairfield. Of course, in their attempt to prevent suppression of their school, the people realize that their school however small is the one rural institution which is supported by all no "no church, and represents, party, no organization, no lodge, no single group or interest," but rather all of them harmoniously united by the common welfare.
