Carnations were presented" to those 77 years of age and over. John Devey Sr., 88 years of age, was the oldest citizen to partcipate in the festivities. The group gathered in the high school auditorium at 10 a. m-- where a program was given. At noon they were served dinner in the basement of the Memorial building, and were entertained at a picture show. The ffroup then reassembled in the Memorial building, where they participated in an entertainment program. At 7:30 p. m. another program was given, followed by dancing, which concluded the day's activities. .
