"6, a resident of Lehi since 1892, died at his home here Friday at 2:15 p. in. after a lingering illness. Mr. Smith was born in England February 2. I860, a son of Robert B. and Ruth Atherton Smith. In 18K0 he joined the L. D. S. church and emigrated to America. On January 6, 181)2. he married Manda Jane Ross in the Manti temple. At the completion of the Lehi sugar factory in 1893, Mr. Smith became an employee, continuing in that capacity until the plant closed in 1926. His wife died June 21 1926. Surviving are eight children, Mrs. Lecta Robison and Mrs. Zora American Fork; Mrs. LaVon Butte, Montana; Glen Anderson, Smith, Salt Lake City; Merrill Smith, Payson; Mrs. Alta Nelson. Tleasant Grove; Leo Smith, Provo; Mrs. Gail Julian, Iyehi; two brothers. William and James B. Smith. Alpine; two sisters, Mrs. Rachel Foster, Salt Lake Civ. and Mrs. Ann Rutledge.
