COMMUNITY WELFARE The Lions of Lehi haw- helped the community in many ways during the past. They are always putting forth an effort to better the community. Lehi has one of the most enthusiastic and best clubs in this district, and the people of Lehi are grateful for this fact because we would not have some of the things which we now enjoy if it was not for the Lions. Here is a brief schedule of their most outstanding achievements or the past six months: 1. The lighting of the Lion Signs on State Street. 2. Conrtibutions were g'Vcn by the club members to help send a local girl to a typing contest in Chicago. d. tanvased the town securing signatures on a petition to present to the Governor and State Road Com mission urging a educational safety that 4. 5. 11SWERS LAST CALL Helped to sponsor concert for the blind. be will 6. The school will be boosting for their team, Friday and many other basketball fans will be their to help cheer for the boys. The Boosters and the band will be wearing their new costumes to celebrate the beginning of the league games. The boys on the team have been in training for some time now and they have played quite a few practice games with different schools and teams. Coach Ross Neilson has been giving them some good advice these last few weeks and the team is now ready to show the people of Lehi what they can do. All who are interested in, basketball will be cheering for the team Friday t and thev will be back of the team in every way. A feature of the game will be the drawing of the band mothers quilt at the half. The beautiful quilt was recently won by Mrs. Lela Lott, who upon finding that the Band Mothers were still lack ing funds to pay for the new band uniforms, gave the quilt back to the band mothers to help raise the neces sary funds. The band boys will parade in their new uniforms at the basketball game Friday evening. The band mothers were organized about eighteen months ago, and have been working on various projects since their organization to secure the much needed uniforms for the band. Friday night will marp the successful end of their long and almost hopeless task of buying the uniforms, giving the Lehi Band uniforms that will be equal of any other school band in the state, nie-h- Mrs. Janetta Checketts Thomas 40, wife of George Thomas, died at her home here, Monday afternoon, follow- P fending the mission in the revolution against Mexico.
