Cook, state fish and game commissioner as beginning on May 19, will be good this vear, the state department believes. Fish planting programs have been carried out by the state fish and game association and by local organizations during the past two months. Licenses for fishing are now avail able in all sections of the state, Com missioner Cook announces. The proclamation sets forth that will remain high altitude streams closed until later. Lthi pond and Spring Lake will remain closed until June 15 because a number of spawners have been plant ed by the state association in these waters and spawn will be given a chance to be completely run out be ,fore fishing is permitted. Fish Lake will remain closed until June 15 because of spawning and Echo dam will not open because of dangerous conditions there. SOME OPEN JUNE 15 June 15t openings will be observed at the following places : Spring Lake Lehi pond, the Weber river above the bridge in Summit county; East canyon from White's crossing to East canyon dam; the bridge in Summit county; all the Provo river above Sunnbrook, including tributaries in Summit and Wasatch counties; all of the tributaries to Beaver creek above Kamas, Summit county; Fremont river in Sevier county; Seven Mile creek in Sevier county; Johnston's reservoir in Sevier county; Forsyth reservoir in Sevier county; U. M creek in Sevier county; Huntington river and its tributaries above the point where it joins with Bulger creek. Other streams will not open until July 1 and some will not be opened at all during the year. In Fish Lake, angling is legal be tween June 15 and October 1. In Central Utah, no fishing will be allowed this season in the following places: Midway Spring creek, its entire length; South Fork of the Provo river, beginning at the mouth of the fork at Vivian park for its entire length ; Deer Creek, Wasatch county, a tributary to Provo river; that portion of the Provo river and its tributaries from the Carter bridge north of Provo to Smith's channel west of Provo; Mill Fork of Diamond Creek up to the Lone Pine near Springville crossing in Utah county. It shall be unlawftil to angle for fish in the Strawberry Reservoir in Wasatch county or in any of its tributaries, except that in the Strawberry Reservoir, the Strawberry river up to the Victory highway bridge, in Indian Creek above the Diversion works and in Fish Creek and its tributaries above the Diversion works and in Carbon county, it shall be lawful to angle fish between July 1 and Oct. 20. WHISKY DESTROYED Three men were injured and an Owen Transportation company truck, mervarrying four tons of general chandise, including 43 cases of tax-pai- d whisky, was wrecked in an accident at 5:50 a. m, Monday on the mile State street highway, one-ha- lf noith of the Draper canal and north of the Point of the Mountain grade. Curtis Brinkerhoff, 25, driver of the truck, who was cut and bruised, reported to Salt Lake county deputy sheriffs that the steering gear failed to operate and the truck swerved oft the highway into a utility pole and landed in a wheat gield. In the crash 15 cases of the 45 cases of whisky were destroyed when the whisky and general merchandise, including machinery and breakfast food, were scattered in a wheat field. The remaining 30 cases of whisky were seized by the deputy sheriffs and held pending an opinion from Harold E. Wallace, Salt Lake county attorney. C. quilting center reports a total of 334 quilts finished at the Lehi work room since March 5. There are about 15 ladies at the quilting room three days of each week. They have been working for the past few months on the quilting project. The quilts are sent to Trove and distributed to relief families throughout the county.
