Yet, my efforts are stymied because I can't find that one journal that contains that one article I need. Why? Because the library hasn't the funds to obtain this particular journal. Why? Because there's no money. Why? tie-dy- ed a heavy dose of steam Editor: First, this letter is not for the faint of heart, some of the language contained may be offensive to some, others may not give a shit. I use it because it carries the emotion of feeling and sometimes there is no better way to express one's feeling of rage than to get it out by swearing. With that, I'll proceed. Why are we here? Have you ever asked yourself that question? Are we here just because we are? And if so, what are we to do about it? Do we attend this university for the sole purpose of bettering our personal positions in life, or is there some more noble purpose to which we could aspire? "Like what?" you may ask. I'm currently attending the U. in order to obtain a master's degree in the field of family ecology. What I wish to do with this is to work as a consultant for organizations with regard to family policy, possibly bring about some change in making these programs a little more effective, so my tax dollars and yours are not thrown down the tubes and even more important, so perhaps I might bring about some positive improvement in the lives of others. In order to do this, I must learn the process by which one goes about and evaluates such programs that are currently in existence. And one method of doing this is to look at what other people, before me, have found. Where might I locate this sharing information? The library. So, here I am trying to find some literature, some research, on effective juvenile delinquent treatment programs, so I can conduct an evaluation on the program I am currently working in, so I can possibly improve the quality of care given.
