In the editor's political naivete, you can turn back the clock to one biased view of the end result of a lengthy series of events, brand the outcome "criminal" and pretend what precedes and follows the event is irrelevant. The creation of the State of Israel 40 years ago followed a series of compromises accepted by Palestinian Jews and rejected by Palestinian Arabs! Had any compromise, including the 1947 partition been accepted, the Palestinian Arabs would have Elan far better off than they are. Every offer by Israel to negotiate peace was rejected by the Arabs, so that regretfully, the present Israeli leadership has reciprocated with its own intransigence. After the 1967 War, when Israel extended an offer to withdraw from occupied territories in a negotiated peace, the initiative was met by an Arab response of "No recognition! No negotiation! No peace!" Where is the "fairness" in forgetting the 750,000 Jews from Arab countries who were forced to abandon extensive land holdings and substantial wealth because they were Jews (and thus "Zionists"), and forced to emigrate from their homes of hundreds and even thousands of years to preserve their lives? Where is the careful analysis of the aggression by Palestinian Arabs against Jews since 1920, the invasion by neighbor states at the end of the British Mandate in 1948, the blatant and consistent hostility toward Israel by the United Nations since shortly after Israel's establishment (and not accidentally its rejection of frame- Communism as its governmentaleconomic plan, a willingness to negotiate, a clear rejection of the Palestinian National Charter, which calls for the elimination of Israel as an entity? I want to thank the supporters of the Islamic Republic of Iran for being there and for trying to teach American people the truth. In this country and abroad, one hears so much false propaganda about the Islamic Republic and its leader, Khomeini. However, this kind of propaganda has been "made up" by the supporters of the old regime. The fact that during the rally, the speakers didn't have time to answer the questions of the Khomeini supporters goes to show they don't want the American people to know what is really happening in Iran. The protesters were afraid if the Khomeini supporters had a chance to speak, they would deny the charges held against Iran, be supportive of the government and the protesters would look like fools. If the government of Iran is as terrible as they say, then why does it exist and why does practically the whole population in Iran support it? I went to Iran two years ago and saw for myself the spirit of the revolution ringing high with support. The streets were literally flooded with people shouting, "Long live the Islamic Republic of Khomeini!" To those Iran and long live our leader-Im- an Iranian students who organized the protest, just remember: The truth has come and falsehood has vanished. Surely, falsehood is ever certain to vanish.
