The plan will be implemented this fall Due to a scaled-bac- k budget and the loss of some faculty, business classes has been division admission into upper made a two-stprocess, said Christy Bond, an academic counselor in the business school. The contents of the courses, however, will not be changed. She said the requirements will remain essentially the same, but an intermediate business classification has been added. Students will have to complete both steps before being considered for admission into the College of Business. She said the restructuring should also reduce class sizes and will help to accommodate the more than 3,000 majors on campus. A 2.8 cumulative grade point average will be required for admission in the upcoming academic year, Bond said the GPA, which will be reset at the beginning of each year, was set low to give students a chance to gain admission to intermediate status. Once the GPA is set for the year, she said there will be no exceptions to it all students wishing to continue in the business program will have to meet the GPA requirement. Applications for intermediate status will be accepted on a weekly basis. Students may turn in applications on any day of the week. Applications submitted before a Thursday will be processes by the following Wednesday, she said.
