This winter sports column will appear each week on these very pages. This week's column is a simple overview of a few dominant feelings and trends in the ski industry. Stay tuned. Snow. That is the word now. Without it. the Utah ski industry will lose thousands. Without it. the state may be plunged into a horrible drought. But most importantly, without it. I wouldn't haveanything to do over the holidays. ' But according to representatives of Utah resorts, there is really nothing to worry about. The year has started off well, and they have every reason to believe this year will be better than the last couple of years, which, they hasten toadd. weren't really that bad anyway. In it I will try to write about all of the aspects of winter sports in Utah. Downhill skiing is the major focus of winter sports in the area, but that is by no means the only sport. I intend to writeas y much as possible about skiing, snow camping, andevenacolumnortwoonthat college racing, motor sports new craze, offensive snow driving. cross-countr- may be funny, it may be informative. It may even be worth reading. But one thing sure, it is a great way for me to have fun for free. And that's the important part. . So stay tuned.
