Handling the responsibilities of concerts is Mark Nelson, a graduate student in fine arts administration. Jana Epperson, a junior majoring in home economics education, will coordinate fine arts programming for the boaid. Nelson and Epperson fill vacancies created by the recent resignations of Programs Board Chairman Scott Howell and board member Jeff Wexxihave. Most recently, he served as Corkroom Committee Programs Board Chairman chairman and arranged weekly folk music concerts for Union Programs. In 1976 he initiated and coordinated the Arts 'n Parks program with the Salt Ijke Council for the Arts and Salt l.ake City Parks and Recreation. His prime resjxjnsibilities on Programs Board will be booking and planning concerts for ASUU, including facilities planning and public relations woik. "I'd like to set a purxscful goal for the Fine Aits Committer, to inc rease awareness in the talents jiossessed by our own student body and provide a means whereby they max display their arts for all to enjoy. Hopefully the events planned by the committer will stimulate enthusiasm and inteiest in the ails." Fprxrson said-Shsaid she would like to start a "Concert Impiomptu" activity, where students are given the opportunity to prifotm any type of talent they may have. Employees of the federal government are not eligible with the exception of regular members of the armed serv ices. There is no occupational restriction. Those who have been selected have included scholars, engineers, corporate employees, academic professors and administrators, medical doctors, architects, local public officials, lawyers, cxeanogTaphers, a policeman and a symphony conductor. Fellows are chosen for leadership qualities, intellectual and professional ability, high motivation and a commitment to their community and nation. All reference materials will be moved to the third (main) Trolley Square 7th East Entrance University Store 582233 207 South 1300 East floor. Books catalogued according to the Library of Congress or Dewey Decimal systems will be shelved in continuous sequence on the fourth floor. Serials, periodicals, newspapers and microfilm will be gathered together on the fifth floor.. According to Robert 5 Runyon, associate director of libraries, the reorganization is aimed at "making the library easier and more efficient for people to use." The work began during the second week of June and will be completed in August. Runyon said there should be no inconvenience to students returning to school fall quarter because new signs, schedules and guide materials will be available by then.
