LSU scored first on Carl Trimble's four yard run completing a seven play drive after the fumble recovery. Utah came to 7 3. Utah's defensive end D3n Clark recovered a fumble on LSU's next series. Utah had hopes of an upset as Ike Spencer charged in for a score giving the Utes a 10-- lead in the second quarter. The Utes' moment in the sun was short lived as Robert Dow took the kickoff back 92 yards to put LSU ahead The Utes never overcame that score. Before the end of the half, LSU drove 71 yards with Brad Davis going in for the touchdown. The Utes worked hard the second half but were unable to put enough on the board to overcome LSU's 35 points. Utah ended the game with 230 yards total offense compared to the Tigers- 370. Of the seven relays, one was won by a female. Charlene Orzechowski, a nurse at the University Medical Center won the fourth relay with a score of 28 points and two bullseyes out of 30 possible points. She and several other women competed against the men. Believe it or not, Orzechowski had never handled a rifle befrre.. .until this Turkey Shoot.
