Howell of Logan announce the engagement of their daughter, Gayla, to Richard B. Davis, son of Mrs. Lois S. Davis and the late Richard B. Davis of Tremonton. A late fall wedding in the Logan LDS Temple is being planned by the young couple. Dick and Gayla are students at USU where Dick will graduate Fall Quarter. Gayla was Cache County Dairy Princess and currently is reigning as "Paper Doll" at USU ; is attendant to the Forestry Queen and to Miss Cache Valley. She is affiliated with Alpha Chi Omega Sorority. AND MRS. SCOTT MAUGHAN Logan Temple Rites Unite Glenna Andersen and Scott Maughan In rites solemnized in the Logan L.D.S. Temple, August 12, 1965, Miss Glenna Andersen became the bride of Scott Maughan. Officiating at the impressive ceremony was President George C. Raymond. The bride is a daughter of Bishop and Mrs. Stanley H. Andersen, Tremonton. Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Howard C. Maughan of Garland. Following the ceremony a wedding breakfast at the Grand View, Logan, Utah, was held for the newlyweds, relatives and friends. The couple was also honored at a reception that evening in the Tremonton Fifth Ward Cultural Hall. The bride was lovely in an original floor length gown of a silk organza overskirt appliqued with lace and crystal sequins over a tiered full skirt of imported French Chantilly lace. The scalloped neckline and fitted bodice was also trimmed with pearls and crystal sequins. It featured long sleeves tapered at the wrists and a five tiered slight train of matching Chantilly lace. Her bouffant silk illusion veil was held in place by a crystal bridesmaids wore identical floor gowns of length pink crystalline and brocade. Junior bridesmaids wore short dresses of pink crystalline. They carried bouquets of pink and white roses and carnations. Miss Bonnie Hall presided at the guest book and sisters-in-law- s and aunts of the bride attended the gift and trousseau tables. The best man was David Maughan, brother of the groom, and ushers were Lyle Evans and Riley Summers. The Hardys have one other child, a Home-makin- iff r' Announcement is made of the wedding of Miss Karen Sue Peterson and William Patrick Metz, who exchanged nuptial vows August 28, 1965, at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Burlington, Iowa. The Reverend Placidus Kieffer officiated at the double ring ceremony and nuptial mass. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford J. Peterson of Burlington. Mr. Metz is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael J. Metz of Tremonton. The newlyweds were honored at a luncheon and reception at Hotel Burlington following the ceremony. For her wedding, the bride chose an ivory Peau de soie gown, which featured a fitted waistline, enhanced by an overof lay lace matching that in the bell shaped sleeves. The slim skirt was fashioned with tiny pleats at the side front and back. The Watteau chapel length slim train was attached at the waist by a self fabric bow. Her bouffant water-fal- l veil of hand finished imported silk illusion was held by a pill box of peau and lace with three self fabric bows trimming the front. She carried white roses, stephanotis and English ivy. floor-lengt- Attending the bride as matron of honor was Mrs. Michael J. Metz Jr., of Iowa City, sister in law of the groom, and Melain Mathias, of La Mirado, Calif.; a niece of the bride as brides maid. They wore street length gowns of yellow shantung with shallow necklines, elbow-lengtsleeves and slim bell shaped 10AN h skirts. Their head pieces were self fabric bows with circular veils. They carried cluster arrangements of white daisy -- pompoms. Attending the groom as best man was his brother, Michael Metz Jr., and Larry Metz was grooms man. Ushering were Taul Logan and Tom Rampy. The new Mrs. Metz is a graduate of Burlington High School and has been employed by J. I. Case Co. Mr. Metz is a Bear River High school graduate, and is now a junior in chemical engineering at Iowa State University in Ames. He is affiliated with Sigma Phi Epsilon, social fraternity and Alpha Chi Sigma, professional fraternity.
