November D -f, jmm iw ft n f Midland DUP Meet Slated Jon Two Gracfs TDne GLEAOEI Daughters of Utah Pioneers will hold their next meeting on Nov. 21, 1977, at the home of Elda Vee Stokes in Both-we- ll at 2 p.m. The lesson will be given by Journalism Society EM Mrs. Steven H. Jewkes Mrs. Ruby Scholer graciously entertained members of the Simada Club at the Senior Center Tuesday evening, November 8. Mrs. Grace Hales conducted the meeting. Robert Scholer of Long Island, N. Y. was the featured speaker for the evening. He capably told of the background of the famous Russian writer, Anton Chekhov. He also reviewed four of his "The Cherry Orchplays, ard", "The Three Sisters", "The Seagull" and "Uncle Vanya". It was special guest night and each member introduced their guest for the evening. Light refreshments were served by the hostess, assisted by her daughters, Mrs. Annjean Scholer of Burley and Mrs. Norma Holmgren, to club members and the following guests: Robert Scholer , Mr. and Mrs. Burke Scholer , Mr. and Mrs. Harry Wilson, George Whitney, at the Bowcutt Reception Center, 105 West Main, Tremonton, Utah, .between the hours of 7 and 9:30 p.m. as attendants are Chosen the Misses Janine Oyler, Becky Austin and Jill as well as Mrs. David Yurth and Mrs. Sam Mar-tinda- le e. Mr. Bart Smith will perform the duties of best man. Ushers include Brad Brown and Ron Hovey. The new Mr. and Mrs. Jewkes will be at home in Kaysville after their return from Sun Valley. - PEREZ Jess and Kathy Napoli Perez of Clearfield are happy over the arrival of a GREEN Roger: and Karen Connor Green of Salt Lake City are happy over the arrival of a baby boy born at Holy Cross Hospital in Salt Lake City on November 9. The new baby will be named Richard Van Green. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Evan Green of Tremonton and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wadsworth of Idaho falls. baby girl born Nov. 2. She will be named Allison Perez. They have four children at home, Ryan, Denitt, Staci and Natalie. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. George Napoli of Tremonton and Mr. and Mrs. .Ted Perez of Ogden. I I Two graduates of Bear River High were recently initiated into the Sigma Delta Chi (SDX) sorority at Utah State University. Miss Sheree Josephson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Garth Josephson of Plymouth, and Miss Mindee Hansen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don Hansen of Tremonton, are new members of the sorority. Sigma Delta Chi sorority is the Society of Professional Journalists. The members have to be active writers and have had articles published. George Sorensen, crime writer for the Salt Lake Tribune, was the guest speaker. Sheree and Mindee and eleven other USU students took the S.D.X. oath from Cliff Cheney, vice president of Utah's chapter of S.D.X. and editor of the Logan Herald Journal. Also attending was Douglas Robinson, president of USU S.D.X. Chapter. The initiation banquet was held at El Sol Restaurant Thursday, November 10, in Logan.
