Tremonton Way The Tremonton-Garlan- MABEL S. Browns Entertain IIADFIELD Browns At Home Mrs. Mabel Olive Smith Hadfield, 85, of Riverside, died Sunday at a Tremonton nursing home of natural causes. She was born Oct. 7. 1891, in Draper, a daughter of Lauritz N. and Johanne K. Jensen Smith. She married Job Oliver Hadfield on June 10, 1914, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was reared and educated in Draper and received her Normal Certificate from the University of Utah and her Extension Service Certificate in rural leadership from Utah State University then Utah State Agricultural College. She worked as a teacher until 1915. She was an active member of the Belmont LDS Ward and had served as YWMIA president, Primary president, member of the Relief Society presidency, Primary and Sunday School teacher. She was a member of the Bear River Stake Relief Society Board for 17 years and had served as a member of the Box Elder County Fair Board for many years. For 33 years she was Riverside correspondent for The Leader. Surviving are her husband of Riverside; one son and three daughters, Ross S. The riv Y.I Mrs. Bone of Garland, who is the German and Actor's Guild Club advisor, reports that Tuesday the Drama Class went to Box Elder to present two Story Theatres, "The Golden Goose" directed by Debbie Pugmire and Jeannette Johnson, the main if i characters are first German movie entitled, "Zeppelin." Mr. and Mrs. Henry Brown had Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Brown and baby from Bountiful for house guests Friday night and Saturday. Saturday, Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Brown took Mr. and Mrs. Henry Brown to Logan to visit relatives, where they also enjoyed dinner. They Funeral services were held Wednesday in the Belmont Ward Chapel at West Fielding. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery. Several people in the valley were involved in accidents this past week. Mrs. Val Nessen was burned quite badly when her pressure cooker blew up, spraying her upper chest and neck with its hot contents. She was taken to Brigham City for treatment and later re' leased. Mrs. Michael Fonnesbeck was involved in an auto accident in Brigham City. She was taking her little daughter, Camille, to the Brigham Hospital to have some stitches removed from her leg when the accident occurred. She was turning off the freeway when she was hit from behind by another vehicle. They were all shaken up but no one was injured seriously. Mrs. Louis Douglas attended a meeting in Salt Lake City Friday in connection with the State School Board. Mr. and Mrs. Burke Jones the California-Anahei- d saw their daughter, Becky, off at the Salt Lake airport Friday for her home in San Diego, Calif. Later that day they were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Jones. They were overnight guests Friday of Burke's sister, and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Butterworth. Saturday they met with other members of their family at the skating rink for an afternoon of fun.' The group'' had dinner that day at the Scott Teuschers in Ogden. It was all in celebration of their grandson, Shane's, Mr. and Mrs Andrew Funk enjoyed the company of Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Funk and Mr. and Mrs. Udell Funk and family from Ogden on Sunday. Monday Mrs. Andrew Funk went with her sister, Mrs. Miles Thompson from Tremonton to Salt Lake. Mrs. Thompson was on a business trip and Mrs. Funk was just enjoying herself. Mr. and Mrs. Odis Ronalds from Ogden spent Sunday with Mrs. Ronald's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ellery Hall. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hall enjoyed the company of Rona and Mike Richardson ' ' for Sunday dinner. Mrs. V. W. Johns reports that the Literary Club met at Mrs. Morris Rhodes home. The book was given by Dorr-i- s Peterson, entitled, "Josh" by Joshua Logan. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Thompson attended the Ass- seventh birthday. Scott Nessen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Veryl Nessen was in the Ogden Hospital over the weekend for a tonsilect-om- ociated General Contractors Convention held in Salt Lake City Friday and Saturday. They stayed at the Hotel Utah where all the meetings and dinners were held. Wednesday the Thompsons visited Hardware Ranch, where they visited Mr. and Mrs. Hal Wood and also enjoyed the view of the elk. On Sunday they were visited by Vernon's brother and wife, Wes and Beth Thomp- y. Mr. and Mrs. Ray accompanied Patriarch and Mrs. James White on a week's vacation to southern Soren-se- n Utah. They visited the temples at Manti, St. George and also Salt Lake and did temple work in each one. Mrs. Glade Timothy went Hosinto the McKay-De- e pital ' to have some tests Sunday afternoon. She should be home in the middle of the week, unless complications arise. Former resident, Don Korth and family, had a missionary farewell for their son Sunday in Maple-ton- , Utah. He is being sent to Germany. Elder Reid Will Report Mission Elder Shawn Reid behind-the-scen- ; TV story gets to the public. Mrs. Howard Milne introduced Captain Nick Morgan of the police department who talked on crime and ways to prevent it. Mrs. Gladys Goates, chairwoman of the CIP, introduced Philo K. Holland, Sears Representative, who discussed projects for community improvement. Mrs. Elmer Kliggard, chairman of the Conservation Department, showed films on improvements made in conservation during the past year. Elder Mark HrschJ Elder Hirschi Will Speak Elder Mark V. Hirschi, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jay R. Hirschi, has completed service in the Wellington-NeZealand mission of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints. He will speak at a homecoming service Jan. 23, at 5 p.m. in the Tremonton Fourth Ward at the stake center. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jay R. Mr. and Mrs. Dewayne Falk and daughter, Lori Ann enjoyed a dinner party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Falk and family in Ogden during the week. The occasion was their little grandson, Michael Falk's, second birthday. Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Stark have returned after spending a few weeks visiting their and daughter, Dr. and Mrs. Glen Baugh in Woodland Hills, Calif. Reid recently returned home after serving two years in the Italy Padova Mission of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints. Elder Reid will report his mission on Jan. 23 at 7 p.m. in the Tremonton Third Ward. He is the son of J. Wayne and Merle C. Reid of Tremonton. Mr. and Mrs. Dalton spent the day in Logan on Saturday. Mr. Milton Hodges has been in the Logan Hospital over the weekend. He returned home Monday.
