Show THE Me At Local Mel Police SUb Salt Escapee Tremonton police and Utah Patrolmen apprehended an escapee from the Salt Lake County jail recently when they cornered him at the Shady Lane motel. The escapee later attempted to slash his arm open while in the city jail. Charles Henry Eichler, 24, was found hiding in a storage shed near the motel by officers. He offered no Highway living with friends there. Police searched an apartment but Eichler, apparently spotting the officers, went out the back and got on the roof making his way to the storage shed. After the arrest he was booked into the city jail where he attempted to slash his upper left arm with broken glass from a heat lamp, Ogborn said. Mrs. Hill suffered a stroke a few weeks ago and has since been hospitalized. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Morris hosted a fireside at their home Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Farrwere guest speakers. They gave a very interesting account of their' mission to Texas. Miss Ida Lynn Udy, now working in Salt Lake City, spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray -- Udy. Mr. and Mrs. Norris Hess received a phone call from their daughter this past week. Mrs. Chad Starr of Fort Lewis, Washington, telling them all is well. They also received word from their son, Elder Rodney Hess in California, thatheisbeing transferred to a new area, Portersville, California. Spending Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Hess, were Mr. and Mrs. Micheal Robbins and daughter, Frankie of Ogden. Elvira Christensen was taken back to the hospital last Friday where she had to receive oxygen for her heart condition. She is ht while she is under the oxygen but she can't seem to get along without it. Our best wishes go with her. Mrs. Mary Anderson received some extra special good news Friday. Hartley and Gave Anderson called to tell her of the arrival of their new baby girl. If you remember they have six boys so this was wonderful news. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jensen and family have returned from an extensive holiday vacation to Orlando, Florida, where they visited with Mrs. Jensen's brother and his family. Mrs. Ida Christensen has returned to her home after spending a week with her son, Odell and his family in Spanish Fork. Word was received by members from family Chester, and Bessie Christensen that they had arrived in Cheyenne, Wyoming, Wednesday night and we re spending the night with an aunt of Bessie's. Saturday night they called again and they had made it as far as Nebraska and the weather was so bad they decided to stay there until the storm had subsided. They stated that Saturday it had taken five hours to drive fifty miles. They are on their way to Columbus, Ohio, to fulfill a six months mission for the church. During the terrific thunder storm last week Randy Iver-so- n was working for Dell Holmgren in his feed yard when he was hit by lighting. He felt it pass over his forehead and when he realized what had happened he was on the ground. Later that day a straw pile fell on him . Phyllis Holmgren told us it was just one of those days when Randy should never have gotten out of bed. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Hight of Big Horn, Wyoming, visited at the Kenneth Paskett home during the week. Vay Jensen entered the Logan hospital Monday evening to have surgery for a detached muscle in his arm caused by heavy lifting The Dee Jay Thompson family were out to church Sunday after a long stay at home following a auto roll over just after Christmas. They did it a little bit early because that night we really got the snow.
