Mrs. Andersen is a graduate of Hear Hiver high school and attended I tali State University. Mr. Andersen is a graduate of Box Klder high school and graduate from I tali State I'niversity with a degree. The couple will make their home In Tremonton. He and his wife fulfilled a LDS Mission in the Northwest in 1960-6- 2. He has been active in church orgHe was also a anizations. member of the American Legion Post 76. His wife died Aug. 23, 1971. The Andersons were parents of six sons and six are living: daughters e en of Tremonton; Blackfoot; Verl W. of Highlander (near Boise); Lynn E. and Mrs. Neal (Florence) Hall of Enterprise; Mrs. Odell (June) of West Jordon, Mrs. Gordon (Phyllis) Holmgren of Bear Hiver City; Mrs. Allen (Lillian) Jensen of Brigham City; Mrs. Newel (Erma) Poulsen of San Jose, Calif.; Mrs. Tom (F.lna) Shupe of Salt Uke City. One son died in infancy and one son, Voy. died during World War II in New Guinea. There are 70 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Anderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. ndcrsen of Hear Hiver City Emil Andersen years of age he came to America and lived with an uncle in the Tremonton area. He was employed doing farm work. He was drafted into the service and was stationed at Fort Lewis, Wash, during World War ia, home in several locations inthe Tremonton area. Mr. Anderson was a successful farmer raising hay, grain and beets He until his retirement. also had dairy cows. BRC June 6 marked the y for the reunion of the W alt Hansen family in the Brigham Canyon. F'orty family members were able to attend which was over half and was considered to be a good representation. Draper of Great Falls, Montana, sister of May ( hristensen came July ."5 to attend the Bassett re- union. She then left on the iith for California to attend the funeral of her twin sister's husband. Mrs. lone Duncan, wife of insurance man Tremr)nton Rulon Duncan, is the artist. The paintings w ill be on display in the Tiffany Lunch through the month of July. Mrs. Duncan was first introduced to oil painting at the age of two when her mother painted a picture and gave her a setofbrushesand Wednesday ing slowly. His new bride will follow as soon as he finds a place to live. Mrs. Charles Kellar and five children of Iyimn, Wyoming, visited her grandmother, Florence Gardner, on Thursday. Saturday Mrs. Gardner had as her guests Gardner Jeppson of Mantua and his girl friend Jan Richards. Mr.a Mr. and Mrs. Jack Mate-se- n, Mr. and Mrs. Eddie W right and children of Kly, Nevada, and Mr. and Mrs. Chris Matesen of Salt Lake City spent the weekend with Cliff Matesen. They were here to attend the Rudell reunion and the 50th wedding anniversary of their parents the Rudells. Over the 4th of July weekend guests at the Mario Checketts home were Rryce and Marlene Checketts of Chandler, Arizona. Ron Mortensen was a Knight in Shining armour Monday afternoon. Due to incorrect camera settings, none of my pictures turned out and Audrey Murdock was kind enough to make a trip from Logan so I could her. We visited, had lunch, along with four children and a friend. In between all this, we had drop In out of state company so I was over an hour beI hind schedule anyway. tried to load the camera and got nowhere so decided to take it back to the boss to load. Then I discovered that Julie had left my only set of car keys In town in Wendy Heppler's car. Audrey offered to drive me in her auto and we rushed out, jumped in the car, drove three feet and heard this aminous thump and crunch We and the car stopped. discovered a big log about two feet In dlamenter and the car high centered over it. W ith my usual aplomb In an emergency, I yelled at Julie for leaving the log in the driveway (in a most irrational manner)and ran to the phone and called good Neighbor Ron. He jacked up the car removed the log and got us on our way. I tell you Audrey and I laughed ourselves silly. Only two women could get themselves in such a mess. Thank goodness for the men who are always there to rescue us from ourselves! The Jack Shumways of Tremonton are enjoying a few the days enjoying World's Fair at Spokane. The country around Spokane is so beautiful. I wish we could all join them. lam so happy to hear that Garland's Dr. Mohr is out of the hospital and Grace has taken him to the cabin to recuperate. Our town needs him desperately and we're all counting the days until lie can keep office hours even if it's only part time for awhile. Pm sure we all miss Grace's interest and love that she has for all Doc's patients to. She has such a ready sm'le and always has something "fun" to relate to us. Our community is lucky to have this couples visited Disney Land and toured the big ocean-lin- er, the Queen Mary, moored at Long Beach. The group even had dinner aboard the ship. Mae and Chan rushed back to attend the Boyce Company open house festivities on Tuesday with their grandson, Steve Peluagn. Stephen is an employe there and wanted to give his grandparents the grand tour. The Harry Taylor's of Tremonton hosted a family dinner last Sunday at their home. Guests encluded Mr. and Mrs. John Stringham and daughter of Salt Lake City. They were also joined by Mrs. LaRue Price and children, Darren and Paula of La Verkin, Utah. couple. The Chan Cornwall's received a lovely surprise from their son, Doug. He and Jean presented them with round trip tickets to Los Angles, Calif., so they could ses, she said. She has won numerous prizes and honors at local art shows and the county fairs. Her work has a depth of feeling and pleasing quality. Anyone wanting cherries can call Ron Mortensen or my house to place an order. They are only charging 15f a pound but the boys are avid cherry pickers and they hope to make some money at it. I went to Ogden to pick Blng cherries with Bev Farley and Gay Billings of Tremonton the other day. We picked for several hours and it was so hot and sticky and we were so tired that we decided to give it up and started for the car. Bev picked up her box, which had about thirty pounds of cherries in It, and the w hole bottom of the box came out and all the cherries fell on the ( tutUmirc Engagement Set Garland Club Sees Canning Display By Agent 1 ! The Garland Civic and Home Arts Club witnessed a demonstration on canning July lfi at their regular meeting at the Garland Civic Center. Reunion Plans The class of 1949 at Bear River high school will hold 25th class reunion August 3. The runion will begin with a social hour at 6:30 p.m. with a dinner being served at 7:30 p.m. Class members are all invited.
