The affair as held in the Senior Citizens' Center. Dinner was prepared and served by the club members ith Mrs. Verne II Morrisen and Mrs. Ortelle Petersen, club officers, in charge of arrangement. Dinner was served from beautifully decorated tables with the "Little New Year" as the center of attraction. After dinner the crowd met in the lounge for games and visiting. Games were under the direction of Mrs. Jessie Van Sweden. Prizes went toLeahDeakinand Garland Puzey. Members of the VGF Club, with their husbands as guests, enjoyed New Years' Eve at the Bowcutt Center Reception where they enjoyed a delicious supper together.. There were twenty four there to see the New Year in and to socialize. It was a affair and arrangements were made by the club officers, Dorothy Kerr and Bessie Calderwood. The same group and a few guests, 36 in all, met at the center on New Years' morning again for their annual breakfast and a day of visiting, TV watching and Mr. and Mrs. Oliver C. Davis Garland Couple The family of Mr. and Mrs. C Davis of Garland will honor the couple at an open house in observance of their 5()th wedding anniversary on Sunday. January 20th. at the Fast Garland l.DS Ward Cult- ural Hal). In the LDS Church he has served two LDS missions in the Hear River Stake, President of the Klders Quorum, president of the Seventies, Group Leader and secretary of the High Priests Group. Mrs. Davis, the former Han-Williams was born in Malad City, Idaho, a daughter of Benjamin T. and Rachel Williams She is a graduate Williams. of the Malad High school and before her marriage she was employed at the Idaho Enterprise for two years as bookkeeper and reporter. She has been active in the Garland LDS Wards, she served as counselor of the Relief Society, counselor in the Primary and teacher in She the various auxiliaries. na served as a H leader. She was a visiting teacher for 30 years. Mrs. Davis has served as a civic worker having been President of the Ladies Self Culture Club of Garland and all other offices of the club. She served two terms as an officer in 4-- the Northern District Utah Fed- eration of Women's Clubs and a member of the Garland Birthday club for 30 years. She was a representative for Avon Products Inc. for 16 years and also a correspondant for the Ogden Standard Examiner for 7 years in the Garland area. They are the parents of three children, two of whom are living. They are Mrs. Ruby D. Sims of Ogden and Ronald John of Garland. They have ten grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren. games. Mrs. Jack Shumway left from Salt Lake airport, Saturday, for Berkeley, California. She will visit for a week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Reed Hunter. Mrs. Hunter is the former Mary Ann Shum vay. On Sunday Mrs. Shumway attended church services where she heard the new daughter of the Hunters receive the name of Anne Leslie. The Hunters also have a son, Teddy. Mr. and Mrs. Chan Cornwall and seventeen of their fam'ly members were together for New Years for a Chinese supper. Mr. and Mrs. Henry (Lola) Peluaga of Las Vegas have been visiting at the Cornwall home and enjoyed visiting with other family members in the area. Dr. and Mrs. Wendell White entertained onChristmasEveat their home for membersof Mrs. White's family. Her mother, Mrs. Katie J. Nielsen of Hyrum and her brothers and sisters and their families got together for supper and an evening of family fun. The children in the group gave the program and presented the Nativity. Speaking on the topic "Local Drug Problems," the Brigham doctor stressed that the drug problem often originates from drugs within the horns. Woodbury. Dr. and Mrs. Darwin Woodbury and family visited for a few days during the holidays at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Adams in Cedar City. Mr. Adamj is a brother of Mrs. New Mexico made the trip from her home by bus to visit at the Miller home. They met her in Brigham City and she stayed five days with the Miller family.
