Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Ryther (Barbara's parents) also of Eagle spentthe Memorial weekend with the Schmidt's. The Schmidt family had a party May 21 in honor of Gregory's fourth birthday. The local TOPS club held a installation meeting where they new officers. Mr. and Mrs. LaMar Oyler and family spent the weekend in Salt Lake to celebrate their wedding anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Marriott tended the children of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Taylor while the parents attended funeral services for Gordon's Grandpa Cook in Cove Fort Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Kirk-ha- m of Carlin Nevada spent the week here with their children, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Oyler. Mrs. Leah Oyler is in the Valley hospital receiving treatment for a cordiac condition. Herbert Smith left the Blaine Rhodes home Fridayeveningfor his home in New Mexico. The group vis.ited the cemetary in Logan Sunday afternoon. Sorensen accompanied the Bear River High on their choir tour to Oregon, WashingDiane ton and into Canada. On Wednesday Mrs. Maud Lowe of Denver, Colorado brought her mother Mrs. Bertha Walker of Salt Lake to spend the day with Mrs. Ruth Holman. Terry Jackson of Oakdale, Calif, flew in to spend the holiday with his grandmother. They were joined by Linda and Sher-ily- n Jackson of Salt Lake and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Holman of Salt Lake whom they met in Brigham and had dinner at Mad- - Also surviving are 49 grandchildren; 82 three John Sanuel Neal, 89, of Tremonton, died Wednesday at the Bear River Valley Hospital of natural causes. Mr. Neal was born Dec. 8, in Snowville, a son of 1883, Fredrick and Jemima Danger-fiel- d Neal. He was reared and educated in the Bear River Valley. He was married to Clara Peterson, on Sept 16, The 1905, In Brigham City. in the was solemnized marriage Salt Lake LDS Temple in 1930. She died Sept 14, 1968. He was a member of the LDS Church and had served as a member of the Sunday School superintendency and MIA in the Snowville Ward. He had been a home teacher in the Tremonton 1st Ward. Surviving are the following sons and daughters: Archie L. Neal, Ferrell Neal, both of Ma-la- d, Idaho; Gerald Neal, Mont; John L. Neal, Ogden; Chester P. NeaL Portage; Hallis V. Neal, Jerome, Idaho; Mrs. Doyle (Amanda) Cutler, Mrs. George (Naomi) GarbanatL both of Snowville; Mrs. Laura Harrington, Butte, Mont; Mrs. Lamar (Alealn) Thomas, Mrs. Dee (June) Newman, both of Howe, Idaho. Stev-ensvil- le, one sister, Mrs. Alice Robbins, Tremonton. Funeral services were conducted Saturday in the Tremonton 1st Ward Chapel. Burial was in the Snowville Cemetery under the direction of Rogers Mortuary. They are the father and brother of Mrs. Mason. Mrs. Constant Dewey was hospitalized last week, but was on the improve at this writing. Rupert Blackham was in Moroni over the weekend where he attended the reunion of his High school class at Moroni High school. Les Fryer came in from Fresno, Calif., Friday night, and will be here for the week. We were happy to have a visit at the airport with Dale and monton. Eva Thorsen, Arva Archibald, Be mice Hall and Beth Christensen have ended their day in their annual Mr. and Mrs. Roy Lewis attended the funeral of Lester Skinner in Georgetown, Idaho, Tuesday. They were accomp- -; anied by some of Mrs. Lewis's relatives; Mrs, Leonard Beryls of r Brigham and Mrs. .Perry Goodliffe of American Fork. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Whit-ak- er and two children have rented the Jim Holmgren home. We welcome them as new members of our community. ' Last Tuesday the PTA held a' bake sale across the street from the Post Office and netted the sum of $40. At the last PTA meeting for the year Mrs. Lela Anderson was the guest of honor. Mrs. Anderson retired from the teaching profession this year. Mr. Glen Taylor, a principal who Mrs. Anderson worked for and Mrs. Vernell Morrison a life long friend and teacher were the speakers. After the meeting Mrs. Anderson and friends retired to the library where she was presented with a lovely gift and refreshments were served. The beautiful floral tributes left at the cemetary over the weekend is proof that this year was no different than previous years. Mark (Bud) Anderson, Kirk Iverson and Jody Huggins were involved in motorbike and auto accident Wednesday evening in Tremonton. The two boys were uninjured but Jody in recovering in the Valley Hospital in Tremonton from a badly broken leg. Paul and Sharla Jensen Josephsen of Denver came home to attend the funeral of Paul's brother Steven in Brigham. While on the way here their baby took sick and Paul had to leae Sharla and the baby at a near by hospital returning for them later. The baby is reported to be doing fine now but it was quite a scare for them for a time. Mr. and Mrs. L.W. Iverson were hosts at a cookout for family members Sunday. Jimmie and Verna Thompson and four sons of Salt Lake, the Pet Mis-ra- si family, the Boyd Hawkes family, Steven and Robyn Hawkes', Barbara Hawkes of Salt Lake and Scott Spittler of Brig-ha- m were present for barbeques and games. Verl Iverson of Ogden was visiting relatives here over the weekend. Don Lee Pope, wife and four sons of New York called at the L.W. Iverson during the week. Myrtle Anderson was in Ogden Monday to help her mother Mrs. Carl Staples hostess a meeting of the DUP. The Relief Society held thair closing social last Tuesday. After Lulu Clayson gave the lesson the officers served the ladies luncheon. The Vay Jensen are busy remodeling their kitchen after a recent grease fire. Stevens, presidsnt. They were selected from among 86 high school seniors from 63 high schools throughout the Mermountain area who competed for academic scholarships.
