Show Paqe 12, The Leader-T- he Garland Times, May 10, 1973 Seminary Graduation ft 0 Announced n The Forty -- Eighth Annual Graduation Exercises for the Garland LDS Senior Seminary will be held Friday, May 18, 1973, at 8 p.m. in the Bear Riv- er Stake Tabernacle. The theme chosen for the exercises is "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God." Speakers for the program will be graduating students. Featured as speakers will be Chad Merrell, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Merrell; Julee Hawks, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Josh Hawks; Eldon Petersen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Petersen; Cameron Coombs, daughter of Bishop and Mrs. Theo Coombs; and Dell Stokes, son of Mr. and Mrs. Deloris Stokes. Musical numbers for the prothe first graduating class of Bear River High school will be held at the school May 26. All students who were going to Bear River gram will be a men's quartet in 1923 are invited. Invitations are being mailed out, but if you're and a women's sextet missed contact Ed Kerr or Errna Summers of Tremcnton. On Friday morning a Prayer Breakfast was held in the Red Baron Cafe and was attended by Vernell Morrison, Thelma Hall, Mildred Shumway, Marilyn Dal-to- n, Bonnie Grover, Arlene Parker, Evelyn Borup, Ann Potter, Ethel Firth, Fanny Fridal, Nell Puzey, Colleen Woodbury, LaRene Banon Wheatley, Napoli, Marjorie Brockmanand Rosada Fryer who were there representing the Tremonton Womens Civic League. . The local Civic League was in charge of decorations for the breakfast. Members of the club wove small baskets. These contained small loaves of bread and were decorated with gold and blue ribbons which bore the message, "Box Elder County.. The Bread Basket Of Utah." Each guest present received one of the baskets. Other table decorations were made of wheat and seagulls which well represented our area. the Rewards Attending Banquet which was held Friday night at the Brigham City Community Center were Evelyn Borup, Nell Puzey, Fanny Fridal, Marjorie Oyler, Vernell Morrison, Ethel Firth, LaRene Napoli and Mildred Shu mway all from the local Civic League. After a lovely dinner a fine program of music and talks and tributes were presented. Many awards for achievements of clubs throughout the state were made. The Tremonton Womens Ci"ic League won the Art Award. This is given to the club in the state which has done the most in the opinion of the judges, to promote art in all of its forms. A painting, which had been purchased from G. Eugene Jorgensen, was presented to tie local Civic League.
