Program sign-u- p began Monday,. February 5, and will continue through March 16. County Executive Director Mark H. Jensen, anticipates that approximately 900 farmers will sign-u- p for participation in the 1973 feed grain and wheat programs. Simplified provisions have made it so all farms should be able to qualify for is in "If sign-u- p payments. line with previous years, approximately 97 percent of the eligible farms in the county will be signed up in one or both programs," he said. Once a producer is sure of his program choices, then it's a wise idea for him to come in and sign up at the ASCS office as soon as possible. It will save the farmer's time if he comes in early before there is a line-u- p. Even a short line can mean a considerable wait, since it sometimes takes half an hour or more to complete one I1 in the years, as sign-u- p is not automatic. sign-u- p During the period, February 5 - March 16, the ASCS county office will maintain its regular hours, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., except for Thursday, March 1, and Wednesday March 7, when the office will remain open until 6:30 p.m. to accomodate those farmers who work out of town. six-we- ek CONT.
