She was born Feb. 7, 1889 in Louisville, Idaho, a daughter of Issac Hale and Margaret Archibald Stokes. She married George Albert Hess, Feb. 24, 1909, in the Logan LDS Temple. Mr. Hess died May 17, 1967, in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Hesswasact-iv- e in the Relief Society and Primary organizations in the Plymouth Ward. She was an active temple worker. Surviving are the following sons and daughters, Wayne Hess, Miss Rhea Hess, both of Salt Lake City; Howard Hess, Kenneth Hess, Lyle Hess, Mrs. George (Dora) Young-ma- n, all of Ogden; Mrs. Lin-fo- rd (Ruth) Archibald, Roy; Albert Hess, Yerington, Nev., Dr. Oleen Hess, Tanzania, Africa; 29 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and one brother, I.A.
