Mr. and Mrs. Vestil S. Harrison of Centerville have announced that their daughter, Cecelia 'Cece will become the bride of William Bill M. Fox-le- y in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. August 20. Mr. Foxley is the son of Mr. and Mrs. G. Melvin Foxley of Tremonton. Miss Harrison is attending of Utah summer University school and Mr. Foxley is at ROTC summer camp in Fort Lewis. Wash. He will enter the University of Utah Law School this fall. is prominent The bride-eleamong women students on the Logan campus, being a member and president of Kappa Delta Sorority,- - also Alpha Lambda Delta Sigma Pti Eta, and Alpha Sigma Nu. She has been chosen class personality three years, was 1963 USU Woman of the Year, and received the Outstanding Graduating - Woman Citizenship award. She was also 1962 National College Queen. Mr. Foxley is a member of Chi Fraternity, and Sigma served on the College Talent Bureau as chairman of student speakers. He is a pledge trainer of Sigma Chi. Engagement of Fat Pinder Announced Bees were buzzing with the news of the engagement of Miss Pat Pinder and Mr. Wayne Addison Provost at an announcement held at the Town House in Salt Lake City. Miss Pinder is a grand daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Glenn. The luncheon was given by the bride's mother, Mrs. Theron Pinder. Cherubs filled with lovely arhoneyrangements featuring combs covered with flowers and bees nestled among them. Tiny baskets filled with daisies and a scroll announced the engagement and September 17 temple wedding date. PROM ONLY Golf Ladies of Brigham Feted The ladies of the Brigham City Golf Club were guests of the Tremonton Auxiliary Wednesday at the Skyway Club for golf and luncheon. Shotgun tee off was at 8:30 a.m., after was served. which luncheon Beautiful roses adorned each table. After a short business meeting, prizes for the month wore awarded. Lawana Frank was the winner for the closest soore estimate, and Vcrra Osborne for the fartherest estimate. Low putts went to UlalLi Hansen and ae most sixes to Dorothy J oyce. Sunday at the Plymouth Park for their annual reunion, reports Sharon Archibald, local president of the organization, who for another year was as head of the family group. Members came from many areas of surrounding states to meet with relatives for a delicious luncheon and program. Afton. Pierson of Plymouth was named vice president and Clyde Steed, also of Plymouth, the secretary. Mr. Archibald reports that the genealogy work in the associa- tion s going forward and fam- ily members interested in securing history books or pictures may contact him for $1?95 held nosegays of rose buds and split carnations. Bruce Jensen, brother of the groom acted as his best man, and Kent and Dean Shaffer, brothers of the bride were ushers. Grads dj U; U of '38 & '39 Meet - Reports from various members of the Classes of '38 and '39 who attended the reunion Saturday night at the high school indicate it was most successful and very much enjoyed Faculty members and partners joined to make the guest list up to 200. Eight faculty members who were in school with the classes and their partners were present. The theme of the evening was V.I.P's, which was carried out in the arrangements by Fanny Fridal and Erma Anderson, who assisted Fred Allen and Melvin Manning, of the event. Other committee members were Wayne Fryer, Elaine S. Thompson, Bernice S. Oyler, Amy C. Wright, Bernice and Stanley . Anderson and Sylvia B. Iverson. r. Dr. Harold Capener was were given Responses by Blanche Richards Warnick, Ellen Price, Valaine Cornwall Austin, Lane Palmer and Lola Cannon Krey. Adding to the festivities was the presentation of a baby orchid to each lady present. The flowers were shipped here for the occasion by a member of the class, Melva Davis King, who lives in Hawaii. A booklet listing class members and their families and interests was then presented to everyone. The Prom theme songs of and 1937 and 1938, "Heaven" "Harbor Lights", were sung by Amy Christopherson Wight and Verl Waldron. They also sang, "Hello Dolly". ! v ; r I, ... Rex Mortensen Receives Degree At St. Louis U, St. Louis University awarded degrees at its June Commencement bringing to a total of. 2043 the number tt degrees conferred during the 1963-6academic year. the June graduates Among are 40 who received doctor of philosophy degrees and 204 who received masters degrees. There were 100 doctor of medicine degrees granted and 53 doctor of dental surgery degrees. A total of 88 students graduated with academic honors, four of these with i the highest distinction, summa cum laude. Rex C. Mortensen, son of Mrs. Rebecca Mortensen of Tremonton was among those who .received the degree - Doctor of dental surgery. Dr. Mortensen is taking the Utah State Dental Board tests, among several others he has taken before setting up.- - a practice. 1 1C1 , Mrs. Rhoda Christopherson has returned home after visiting with her daughter, Mrs. P. The bride is a daughter of Mr. ' and Mrs. Kenneth Shaffer of East Garland and Mrs. Florence Jensen of Tremonton 'and the late Swen Jensen are the parents of the groom. Members of the two families and bridal party were guests at a luncheon given by Mrs. Jensen after the ceremony at the home of the bride's parents, and the newlyweds were further honored that evening at a reception in' the East Garland Ward halL For the nuptials and reception the bride chose a floor length gown of. white satin, lace and tulle. The fitted bodice was trimmed at the neck by the scalloped lace edge and the long sleeves were pointed at the wrists. Tiers of tulle ruffles, topped with a full scalloped lace skirt formed the 'bouffant skirt. A tiny jeweled crown held her fingertip veil, and she carried a white orchid,- - and " rose bud bouquet. Lou Ann Anderson was matron of honor and other attendants were Joyce Chambers, Ila Mae Wood, and Connie Jensen. They wore identical sheaths of blue crystaline.
