The teachers were introduced and each told of what a child should accomplish during the school year in their classes. Singing was lead by Lynn Iverson. The next meeting is scheduled for Oct. 30th, .wit a Hallowe'en party. CARD OF THANKS special "Thank you", to Karma and Carol Kent who notified Mr. and Mrs. William Storrer Tuesday night of a fire on their farm. The Storrers feel that without the notice they would have lost their machinery, their car, and their hay, all of which were saved by the action of the two girls. A MARRIAGE POSTPONED The marriage of Connie Rae Giles and DeVon Sessions which was scheduled for Friday, Oct. 16, has been postponed. Mr. Sessions is hospitalized with a fractured neck, following a Tuesday morning accident. I . iV " ' t I Bear River Chapter of Future Homemakers of America hosted five other chapters from schools in region one at the regional convention held at Bear River High School September 26. At the convention the new national program of work which was given at the national convention in ' Chicago last July was presented. Guest speaker was Mrs. LeRoy Bunnell who spoke on "Getting To Know Our Neighbors At Home and Abroad." Mrs Bunnell related her experiences in Iran and showed slides of her visit in the Asian ' countries. Mrs. .Utah, Mrs. Gordon Wor-le- y, spoke on preparing for a future in homemaking. Mrs. Wor-le- y told the girls of the importance of preparing for a future in homemaking during the teenage years and told what should be done in preparation for the important career of a homemaker.. The convention featured as a special guest the State FHA President, Beverly Stevens, who reported on the national convention. Beverly, is a senior student at North Sanpete High School in Mt. Pleasant and was elected to head the 3,000 FHA organization in Utah a the state convention last spring. Bette Christensen of the Box Elder Chapter also reported on activities that took place at the national convention. A special panel in which a representative from each chapter participated, discussed problems of FHA and gave ideas for planing a program of work for the year. Miss Lois Rindlisbacher, Physical Education instructor at Bear River High School, spoke to the girls on Civil Defense, which is the state project this year.
