Mr. and Mrs. Alden Thompson and Vicki Francom accompanied to Ogden Richard Thompson Monday evening where he left for the Northern California mission. They had also spent last Wednesday at Salt Lake City visiting with Richard. Alice Nelson, Leona Matlock, Rose Chambers and Donna Hansen just recently completed a six week Brownie Scout training course held in Ogden. They attended with a group from They plan to organize their troops on April 2, at the Tremonton Methodist Church. Mrs. Theola Hunsaker returned home to stay last week from Salt Lake City where she has been employed for the past several months. Easter Sunday she and her mother, Mrs. Nina Dustin of Riverside visited with Mr. and Mrs. Eston Nielson In Hyrum. Oliver Johnson of Deweyville spent the day with his daughter, Mrs. Harold Hansen helping to celebrate the birthday of his grandson Lonny Hansen. Arlo Erickson and two friends spent the weekend skiing at Sun Valley. Arlene and DeLoy Johnson and children Janet and Lu Jean spent .'Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Manuel Ericksen. Also visiting at the Erickson home were Doris and Norman Kemp and son of Murray. Arlene and Doris are Al-de- n. alters. Hold Fireside A very successful Fireside was held Wednesday by the Special Interest Committee. Melvin Fox- lay was the guest speaker. He was accompanied by his wife and dau ghter Susan. After an interesting talk by Mr. Foxley on insurance, Susan played a piano solo. Refreshments were served Jy Mrs. Geneva Erickson and Mrs. Mae Eronson. Mr. and Mrs. Neal Rhodes (formerly Gael Cutler) spent their honeymoon in Las Vegas, Nev. They left after a lovely reception given for them In the Elwood ward hall by Gael's parents, Mr. Mrs. LaMar Cutler. The are making their home in East Garland. Mr. and Mrs. LaMar Cutler celebrated Mrs. Howard Stokes birthday by taking them to Mad- itox for a turkey dinner. Mrs. Elizabeth Austin of Idaho Falls, mother of Mrs. Arthur Erickson accompanied by' Mrs. Erickson's sister, Mrs. Genievive Welker of Chowchilla, Calif., spent a few days here visiting Mrs. Austin.- She is returning to her lume in Idaho Falls after spending the winter in California. Mrs. Arthur Erickson and son Mervin nocompanied them to Idaho Falls where another sister, Mrs. Ella Dum of Montpelier, Ida., met new-lywe- Fridal Jr. Mrs. Walter Fridal arrived home ds Kil-bur- n. Monday from Long Beach, Calif., where has been staying at the home of her brother Harvey Han sen helping out during the illness of Mrs. Hansen who is in a very serious condition. Friday night and Saturday the Explorers and Scouts went on an overnight camping trip to Blacksmith Fork Canyon where they stayed at camp WaPetl, which belongs to the Cache Council of Boy Scouts of America. Scouts Take Oferaight Trip They discussed all the require ments to become a Tenderfoot up to an Eagle Scout. They also went to the Hardware Ranch to see the Elk. They were under the direction of Willis Petersen, Explorer advisor and Shelly Munns, pinch hitting for Mack Hansen, Scout Master. Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Moore of Ogden spent one day last week visiting at thhe home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Heslop. Honor State Champs The coaching staff and members of the Bear River high school basketball team were honored Monday night with a banquet and program at the BRHS Cafeteria. Also guests of Mr. Peterson were members of the Weber high school basketball team and coach Paul Salvo, Stan Watts, BYU coach; Bruce Larson, coach of Weber College Junior National Bear River City By Andrea Huggins Thursday evening was a red letter night for the youngsters, the annual Easter dance. The hall was beautifully decorated for the occasion., After the dance the children enjoyed their Easter lunches, each child brought their gay baskets filled with colored eggs and other good things to eat. The hall looked like a 'spring flower garden as the little girls in their colorful dresses and the little boys in their Sunday best sat on the floor and enjoyed their " lunches. Daughters of the Utah eers met at the home of Pion- Mrs. Friday afternoon. Mrs. Amelia Burt gave the lesson, a dessert luncheon was Gertrude R. Finals will be held Thursday evening at George Nelson field house on the campus. Activities of the year which make Margaret eligible for the high award include senior class Dream girl of vice president; Sigma Nu, secretary of Alpha Sigma Nu, honorary senior fraternity of 12 top senior students, Buzzer personality for the third consecutive year, and Kappa Delta vice president. She was also president of the Associated Women Students last year. In addition to her activities 'in student affairs r and sororities, Margaret has been named a candidate for "Talent of the Year" honors. She played in the school orchestra, was soloist in the Christmas cantata and plays In a string quartet. She is in charge of the musical production of her sorority for the annual Swing Sing to be presented Sunday night by all Greek organizations on the campus.
