PORTAGE By Mrs. Virgil Harris Washakie Relief Society Has New Officers The Relief Society was organized in the Washakie Ward this week with Hazel O. Gibbs of Portage as President, Sarah M. (Tillie) Conley of Portage as First Counselor and Geneva Pachicia as second counselor and Mary Pubigee as Secretary and Treasurer. Mrs. David P. Gibbs returned home Saturday night from Bat-l- e Mountain, Nev. where she has been visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Gale Gibbs for the past two weeks. Josh Hawks returned Saturday night from Spokane, Wash., where (he has spent the past two weeks at a School Principal's Convention. He was one of four chosen from the County to attend. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Brown and Mrs. Theo Jones of Pocatello, Ida., visited Sunday with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Hoskins. Mr. and Mrs. Parley Merrill of Clearfield, also visited the Hoskins Sunday. Returns Home Mrs. Louise Allen has returned to her (home here after spending the past winter with her and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Gus Benson and family in Los Angeles, Calif. She visited her son Jay Allen and family in Los Angeles also, and the past two, weeks she spent with her daughters, Mary Price and Zona Hancey and families' Mrs. Hancey and in Ogden. daughters spent the week here and Mr. Hancey came after them Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Didrickson and family of Preston, were Sunday guests of Mrs. Didrick-son- 's Mrs. parents, Mr. and Isaac Roderick. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Rose and son Steven of Salt Lake City son-in-la- w las Castleton and Judy Hughes. Marsha Ward sang a solo, accompanied by Lorna Willie. Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Hoskins and family of Layton and James E. John and daughter of Brig-haCity visited Sunday aftern-ooowith Mr. and Mrs. Lorenzo E. Hoskins. Mrs. Rita Lee and daughter Janet Williams of Brigham City visited Sunday with Mrs. Lee's parents, Mr' and Mrs. De Roy Hawks. Danny Thomas, seven year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Thomas underwent an appendectomy at the Oneida Hospital in Malad Wednesday. He was returned to his home Sunday. Mrs. Virgil Harris and Mrs. Zona Hancey were Logan visitors Tuesday. Visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Gibbs Wednesday evening were Mr. and Mrs. Dale Moon of Malad, Mrs. Connie Heath of Great Falls, Montana. Jeanne Coombs and Fred Merrifield of Walla Walla, Wash. Week end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Gibbs Allen were: Miss Rochelle Allen. Linda Kay Reg-eMr. and Mrs. Andrew Keve This of Walla Walla, Wash. group and Mr. and Mrs. Allen attended the wedding of Miss Jeanne Coombs and Fred Merrifield Saturday evening at the Coombs home in Fielding. Rochand elle acted as bridesmaid Mr. Keve as best man. her Mrs. J. C. Gibbs and Move To Tremonton Mr. and Mrs. Wm. D. Harris have purchased a house in Tretheir monton and will make (home there. They plan to move this week. Mrs. Royal Halford who has received treatment at the Oneida Hospital in Malad for the past four weeks is slowly improving. Among those visiting her this week were Mr. and Mrs. Wood-roHalford of Magna, and Mr. of and Mrs. Victor Halford Smithfield. Other members of (her family who have been with her constantly are her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Hall, Mr. and and Mrs. Herold Jenkins Mr. and Mrs. Euvene Halford of Portage. Leonard Hoskins and Slan-no- n Peyns of Ogden visited Sun. with Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Hoskins. Mrs. Francis Allen has returned to her home here after spending the winter with her daughter Mrs. Jay Stewart and family in Or em. Carl Halford of California and Carmen H. Warner of Aberdeen, Ida., arrived this week to help Mrs. care for their mother, Rhoda Halford who is very ill. Other daughters, Ethel Hall and Eliza Knudsen are caring for her at her home. The Malad High School Seminary Students accompanied by their Principal, Hal Fergeson presented the program in Sacrament Meeting here Sunday night. The Halls recently returned from Arizona where they spent the winter. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Nielsen of Salt Lake City were Sunday guests of Mrs. Neilsen's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Knudsen. Mr. and Mrs Melvin Gibbs and daughter, Mrs. Roma Smith of Idaho Falls. Ida. were overnight guests of Bishop and Mrs. John F. Conley Friday. After visiting with Bishop and Mrs. Walter E. Gibbs, Arthur Gibbs and other relatives and friends they left Saturday for Salt Lake City where Mr. and Mrs. Gibbs entered the L.D.S. Mission Home prior to their leaving for Independence Mo., their headquarters for their mission. Mrs. Smith returned to Idaho Falls Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. William L. Gibbs visited Sunday in Brigham City with Mrs. Gibbs' parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Farm Bureau offices in Provo, Ogden and Logan also have enrollment material. Enrollment supplies may also be obtained by writing the state Farm Bureau office.
