Show Bear River City By Andrea Huggin Members of Family Gather 32 , Last-minu- te shopping, family parties and friendly have been the main agenda of Bear River folks the past week. Meeting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Irving Christensen for a most enjoyable afternoon were 32 immediate members of their clan. A delicious turkey dinner with all the trimmings was served. Miss Dena Christensen and Miss Kathleen Capener were special guests. the During the afternoon Christensens received a call from their son Dee and family from California, only family member not present. Visiting, playing games and snowballing was the entertainment of the day. Santa made a visit to check up on the behavior of 16 grandchildren and left each of them a sack of goodies. Besides the special guesti those present were Mr. and Mrs. Thirl Christensen and sons, Bountiful, Mr. and Mrs. Joe (Floy) Murray and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Varge Christensen, Ogden, Mr. and Mrs. Gaylen Christensen and children, Mr. and Mrs. Richard (Nola) Nessler and family, Elmo Christensen, and Mr. and Mrs. Max Weese, Tremonton. Spending the holidays with his parents, the Alvin Jensens, are Mr. and Mrs. Paul Jensen and daughter. Lori. Mr. and Mrs. Freldo Anderson and son Carlos, motored to San Jose, Calif, to visit Mr. and Mrs. Bernard (Berry) Christensen. The Andersons will also spend some time with Mr. and Mrs. Dale Hunsaker in San Jose. Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Anderson celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary and had a Christmas party Sunday. Those present were Mr, and Mrs. Harvey Breagger and family, Willard, Mr. and Mrs. Hartley Anderson and children, Sunset, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Merrill and children, Preston, and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Burr and children, Brig-haTre-monto- n, Victoria and Austin Johnsen and Laron and wife left the first of the week for Kent, Wash., to spend the holidays with their daughter and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Henderson. They will also get acquainted with their new Henderson. Julie Ganell Johnsen took time off from work at the college to spend Christmas with the group. Dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Iverson included their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Burt, Brigham, and Jerry's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Iv erson. Holiday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Burton Anderson included Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Bateman and daughter Lori, Ogden, and Mrs. Anderson's mother, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Staple. Early Thursday morning Mr. Christian Anderson and Mrs. and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Nelson, Corinne, left for Moses Lake to spend some of the holidays with their children. Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Mateson visited their son and family. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Mateson, Nev. Miss Sherallyn Welling, Ogden, accompanied them. Getting the holidays off to a good start was the Christmas program given by the Sunday School. The Junior Sunday school favored with several and songs, Clexie Holmgren Gwen Holmgren gave readings, Kristine Huggins and Cordell Mortenson sang vocal solos, Rickey Hansen, Pamela Nelson, Karen Hardy, Richard Nessler, and Spencer Holmgren recited poems. Nola Nessler was the reader. A large crowed enjoyed the affair. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Ivorsor are enjoying the holidays with their son and family, Mr. and Mrs Palmer Iverson, Albcrquorqur. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Breagger, Clinton Burt, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jensen,, Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Johnsen, Mr. and Mrs. Reed Jensen, Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Hansen, Mr. and Mrs. Farrell Huggins, Mr. and Mrs. Del Holmgren, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Holmgren, Mr. and Mrs. Mack Christensen and Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Nelson. The Kenneth Holmgren home was the scene of a lovely club party. Daughters of Utah Pioneers met at the home of Mrs. LaMar Iverson Friday for their meeting. Dena Gertrude Christensen, Jensen and Nola Nessler were special guests. Hostesses were Dolly Iverson and Pearl Elwell, who served very delicious refreshments. Gifts were exchanged. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Dell Hug- gins and children Roberta and Joe D. arrived home from Los Angeles in time for Christmas. Joe has completed his assignment with Shell Oil Co. so they will make their home in Logan for the next six months where Joe will attend the University and will receive his degree in the spring. Mr. and Mrs. Bud Bell and daughter of Roy spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Jensen. Mrs. Gordon Holmgren waa hostess to her club. Mrs. LaVela Mateson entertained her club Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Florence Gardner spent several days last week visiting her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Jeppsen, Mantua. Sandra Nessler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Nessler, had the misfortune to fall on the ice and fracture her arm. Mr. and Mrs. Burton Anderson and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest the "Sugar Huggins attended Dance" at Garland Friday evening. They enjoyed a lunch at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Brooks Shuman at Tremonton. Robert (Bob) Anderson, son of Mrs. Mary E. Ersman, returned to civilian life about two weeks ago. Bob has been in the Army for three years, over two of which have been spent in Germany. He is glad to be home but finds it a bit hard to get back into the swing of things. Last week Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Ersman, Valene Anderson and Bob Anderson visited in Twin Falls with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ellis and in Burley with Mr. and Mrs. Earl Sears. Mrs. Irvin Ersman, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Roberts and children, Gaylene, Leann and Eddie of Grantsville also were guests at the Ersman home. Mrs. Viola Hastings of Salt Lake City is a houseguest of her Mr. daughter and and Mrs. Thomas Waddoups. PFC Vanyle Arbon and wife of Fort Bliss (El Paso), Texas, furare spending a lough 'with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Arbon. They are also visiting Mrs. Arbon's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Stoll, Brigham. us son-in-la- w, Utah's Grade A milk, including milk produced in Box Elder county, has scored another high rating in a test conducted for the United States Public Health Service. Grade A pasteurized milk supplied the Ogden market received an over-arating of 95.66 in a recently completed federal survey, it was announced this week by Alvin Ferre, chief dairy sanitarian of the Ogden City Board of Health. A rating of 90 per cent is necessary to place on the Public Health Service's Honor Roll. The Public Health Service survey for Ogden included supplying Grade A dairy farms in Cache, Box Elder, Weber. Morgan, Davis, Wasatch, Summit, Salt Lake and Utah counties. Earlier this year all 48 fluid milk processing plants in Utah and their supplying farms received honor roll ratings by standards of the U. S. Public Health Service. So far as is known, Utah became the first state in the nation to complete such a survey. A large delegation of Utah stockmen is expected to join 2,000 cattlemen from 35 states in consideration of industry topics and policies.
