By Mrs. Darwin Anderson On California Vacation Injured In Fall Richard, small son of Mr. and Mrs. DeVere Hess fell off a horse Wednesday and suffered a broken collar bone and a concussion. He received medical care at the Valley Hospital and was later released to his home where he is confined in bed. He to be recovering is reported satisfactorily. His grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Archibald and Mr. and Mrs. Dan Archibald of Logan visited with him during the week. Mrs. Mitchell Hess and chil dren of Provo visited at the Jess Hess home Monday. A group of friends met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Archibald Wednesday evening in honor of their daughter, Marsha's birthday. Games and refreshments were enjoyed. Many of our town folk called at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Karl Josephson in Brigham City Sunday afternoon to offer congratulations to Mrs. Sarah E. Josephson who celebrated her 90th birthday with an open house. Mrs. Josephson is the mother of Bishop Josephson and was a former Plymouth resident. The M.I.A. held a Sweethearts Ball Saturday evening. The hall was attractively decorated and a floor show was enjoyed during intermission. Lucky spot dances were also a feature of the evening and refreshments were served. The day's events will get underway at 1:30 and continue until 4:00, when a dinner with all the trimmings will be served. After the dinner the remainder of the afternoon will be spent in visiting, renewing old acquaintances, and meeting new friends. Activities of the evening will begin at 7:30 p.m. with a special program featuring some of the best talent in Northern Utah. After the program the rest of the evening will be spent in dancing. A special invitation is extended to all ward members and to all former residents of Deweyville. General chairmen are Mr. and Mrs. Rupert Blackham, Mr. and Mrs. James Barnard had charge of the dinners. Mr. and Mrs. Warren Haycock are arranging for table and decorations. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Hansen are arranging for the program, while Mr. and Mrs. Louis Spackman are in charge of publicity and invitations. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Heslop are vacationing in California in San Diego with their son, Gerald and family, in Los Angeles with Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Bates and they also planned to attend sessions at the Los Angeles Temple. Mrs. Ila Saunders is staying at the Heslop home while the parents are away. Mr. and Mrs. Duane Frank left Tuesday morning for California where they plan to visit with relatives and friends in San Francisco and San Berna-dinMrs. Ruth Nelson, sister of Mrs. Frank is at the Frank home while they are away. The class, under the direction of leader, Melba Cros-semade and sold cookies last week to raise funds for the Children's Hospital. They were happy to raise the sum of $10.00. Mothers of the group assisted Mrs. Crossen. Ralph Miller is reported to be improving after major surgery at U. S. Veterans hospital last week. The Relief Society is busy preparing for their Sunday evening program which will be held March 3, at 7:30 p.m. Theme of the service will be on the Dedication of the new Relief Society Building at Salt Lake City. The Singing Mothers will present several numbers. Girls Date Parents The annual "Mama and Daddy Date" was held Wednesday evening at the ward hall.
