The game was a close battle, with one point separating the two teams during most of the game. Garn led all scorers for the evening as he dropped in ten field goals and added six free throws for a total of 26 points, while Bruce Parry and Gary Batchelor led the Davis attack with 11 points each. Ralph Gardner, the Bear's big pivot man, added 12 points to the winning cause. The Bear-Cu- b game was one of the best played contests of the year as both teams looked sharp throughout the entire contest. This game was another nip and tuck battle with the Bears pulling away in the final period to notch the win. The Bear offensive load was well distributed with Larry Hess taking honors with 18 counters, followed by Clair Eliason with with 12, 16, Ralph Gardner Daryl Garn and Glen Cobia who each netted 10 points. However, top scoring honors for the night went to South's six foot four inch forward, Jim Rhead, who tallied 19 points.
