Phone AL CACHE Improved Irrigation Practices' will be the subject for a series of lectures to be held at the Bear River City school building starting next Thursday evening, December 6, at 7:30 o'clock. The first meeting will consider the importance and the establishment of Irrigated Pastures. All farmers and their wives are invited to attend. It is planned to hold these lectures each Thursday evening during the months ol December and January at the Bear River City school house. Some of the other topics to be discussed are: Water Management and Application; Irrigation structures; New Research in Canal and Reservoir Lining; Drainage Problems; the Colorado River Project and what it means to Utah; the Bear River Project as it effects Box Elder County; Weed Control on Irrigated Farms; Fertilizers and Irrigation; and new crop varieties to be grown under Irrigation. Each discussion will be led by a specialist in his field. These lectures are being offered as a cooperative project by the Northern Utah Soil Conservation District, the USAC Extension Service, and the Evening Education Program of the Box Elder county school district.
