Show Karen Larsen FIELDING DISCUSS UPPER COLORADO Will Take Course By Florence Munson Book Club Meets The Book Lore Club was entertained at the home of Mrs. Irene Peck Wednesday evening. Mrs. Louise Day of Tremonton "gave an interesting review of Marguerite Higgin's book "News Is A Singular Thing". Delicious refreshments were served by the hostess to eight club members and Mrs. Day. The next meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Marian Kirby at Garland on Feb. 8th. Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Munson spent Tuesday visiting with relatives at Ogden, , Mr. and Mrs. Glen Thatcher , and small daughter of Payson were overnight guests at the home of Mrs. Thatcher's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Afton Adams and family, last week. Visiting with Mrs. Elmo Munson and family Friday afternoon were Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Adams of Yuba City. Calif., and Mr. and Mrs. Harmon Pierson of East Garland. Mr. and Mrs. Willis Fryer were at Logan on business Thursday. Dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Standing Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. France Standing and family of Private Karen M. Larsen, daughter of Mrs. Mary C. Larsen, Tremonton, Utah has been assigned to the Clerical Proceed-ure- s and Typing Course at The WAC Center, Fort McClellan, Ala., for duty as a student following graduation from eight weeks of basic training at the Women's Army Corps Center at Fort McClennan, Ala. While at The Center, which is the permanent home of the Women's Army Corps, Private Larsen received physical fitness training and studied basic military subjects. Dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wynn Hansen Saturday evening were Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Morse of Garland, who are leaving in the near future to make their home in Washington, D. Elder Varge Christensen, who recently returned from an L.D.S. mission was guest speaker. Varge had many souvenirs including a beautiful rug, which was made by a Navaho woman on display. He told of the customs of the different tribes of Indian people with whom he had contact, and of his love for these underprivileged people. Mr. and Mrs. Tru-jill- o of Laguna, New Mexico, also were on the program. Mr. Trujillo is presently employed at Intermountain Indian School. Ardell Anderson Chosen by Jaycees at Centerville Mrs. Ivy M. Anderson was pleasantly surprised Thursday evening when she received a telephone call from the President of the Junior Chamber of Commerce of Centerville inviting her to be present Friday evening at their annual banquet, when the outstanding young man of the year would be presented the "Distinguished Service Award". "She was even more thrilled ' when she was informed that her son, Ernest Ardell Anderson, had been chosen for the award. Douglas was the guest Stringfellow speaker of the evening. Mrs. Anderson and Ardell's wife, Janae were presented beautiful corsages. William Misrasi is in an Ogden hospital where he underwent surgery on his spine. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Bigler and family visited Mrs. Bigler's mother, Mrs. Florence Gardner over the weekend. Mr. Bigler is Professor of Air Science at the University of Utah. Students Give Recital Mrs. John (Janice) Holmgren presented her piano students in a recital Wednesday evening. The Relief Society room was filled to capacity with interested friends and relatives who came to hear the youngsters do their part.
