P i ooiiai invents and Club News & 1 WOMEN TEA Mrs. Mrs. Mae Dalton and Marguerite Rich gave the program at the Tremonton-Gar-lan- d Literary Club meeting Wednesday evening. They showed slides of their European trip, and told many of their interesting experiences while" there. Eighteen guests were served delicious refreshments by the hostess and her mother, Mrs. Oluf Johnson. . OBSERVE 63RD WEDDING Mr. and Mrs. Frank Meldrum celebrated their sixty third wedding anniversary Sunday quietly in company with their daughter and son and their families. Mrs. Joe Burgess gave a din- ner in honor of the occasion, and Mr. and Mrs. Devoe Meldrum and daughter Mary of Afton, Wyo., came to be present for the occasion. Mr. Meldrum was born in Indiana. He is 85 years of age. His wife is a native of West Jordan. She is 81 years of age. They came to this valley first in 1900 and settled in Collinston, moving to Tremonton three years later. Mr. Meldrum was the first blacksmith in this city and continued in that business for many years, Mrs. Meldrum did a lot of practical nursing in the early days of this valley. She assisted doctors in many births, and other illnesses. They the the parents of three daughters and one son, Mrs. Burgess and Mr. Meldrum being the only ones now living. They also have 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. TEACHERS HOLD PARTY Three members of the Box Elder Chapter, National League of American Pen Women from Tremonton were at the annual tea of the group at the Gover nor's Mansion in Salt Lake City Saturday afternoon. Mrs. A. L Cook, Mrs. O. L. Brough and Mrs. A. N. Rytting joined the president, Lura Redd of Brig ham City to be present as guests of the Governor's wife, Mrs. J. Bracken Lee for the afternoon event. During the afternoon, Mrs. Evelyn Vernon of Salt Lake City, who recently returned from six month's study abroad gave a report of her experiences and showed slides of many interesting places she and her two daughters had been. The guests were served dainty refreshments in the state dining room. BRIDGE CLUB MEETS Mrs. Owen Cannon was hostess Wednesday to the members of her Bridge Club. Two tables were in play during the evening, and prizes went to Mrs. Shirley Matney and Mrs. Peggy Taylor. The hostess served tasty refreshments. D.U.P. MEETINGS SET The D.U.P. Golden Spike Organization will hold their next meeting Nov. 28, at 2:00 p.m., at the home of Viola Por-rit- t, The D.U.P. Convention will be held at Brigham 4th Ward, Saturday, Nov. 26, at 10:00 a.m. FAMILY HONORS MRS. ROY ANDERSON Mr. and Mrs. Staney Anderson entertained at a family dinner at their home Thursday evening. At eleven o'clock the program consisting of music by the band, and and vocal departments speakers representing the school and patrons will be given. At 1:30 a special film will be shown in the auditorium. Class schedule for the day will be 1st hour, 2nd hour, assembly, 5th hour, movie and 6th hour. Stake Athletic Program Starts The M Men basketball games in the South Bear River Stake will begin Wednesday, Nov. 30 at the girl's gym of the high school. Three games will be played each Wednesday night beginning at 7, 8, and 9 o'clock. Officials from Ogden will be present for all games. The Stake M.I.A. has prepar ed a family ticket which will admit all members of the family to all athletic events in the stake. The ward M.I.A. officers will have these tickets for sale. The games will be played in Round Robin tournament fash ion, and the ward averaging the highest attendance at M Men games will receive an award. The coveted sportsmanship a- ward will also be presented to the ward, which is judged the best sports in all phases of the program. The Senior scout games will be played in the various wards of the stake beginning Thursday night. RESOLUTION WHEREAS, there exists a shortage in the flow of water from springs furnishing culinary water for the Elwood Town system and therefore it is necessary to restrict the consumption of culinary water to all persons with water connections to not more than 20,000 gallons per month; be it NOW, THEREFORE, resolved and this doth order that n5 person having a water connection with the Elwood Town culinary system shall use in any calendar month in excess of 20,000 gallons. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the watermaster shall read meters as often in each month as shall be necessary to deter mine the consumption through each connection and if any user has consumed the amount of 20,000 gallons or in excess there of the watermaster shall turn off and disconnect the supply at the meter, and thereafter no further water shall be furnished the consumer during the calen dar month in which the consumption exceeds or has equal led 20,000 gallons.
