A large group of people Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Chris Hansen and Mr. and Mrs. Warren Haycock. Sandra Hansen returned home to Salt Lake City with them. Saturday afternoon, Mr. and Mrs. Ted King, Almo, Idaho, visited with the Haycock's. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Peterson drove to Salt Lake City, Friday, and returned home the following day. Mr. and Mrs. James Ririe left Thursday for their home in Magrath, Alberta, Canada. Mrs. Ririe is the former Toni Peter- armed with shovels, rakes, tractors and trucks gathered to work on the cleaning up and beautifying of the grounds. son. Honor Service Man A family dinner was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Orion Snow for Private Dale Quinlan, who came home on leave from Camp Carson, Colorado. Mrs. Quinlan. .who has been living in Brigham will return to Colorado with her husband. Thirteen little folk gathered at the home of Mrs. Darlene Zinck, Monday afternoon to help little Wendy Zinck celebrate her fifth birthday. Los Angeles, Calif., were guests last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mervin Holt. She is Mrs. Holt's sister and came here to attend the wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Holt. They returned home Sunday after also visiting with her brother, George Coombs in Ogden. Mr. and Mrs. Mervin Holt visited at the Coombs home Sat. urday evening. ice Burbank, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Burbank. Both youngsters are recovering after appendectomies in the Valley Hospital. Joins Air Force Wallace Nielsen, son of Mr and Mrs. Ted Nielsen leaves for San Antonio, Texas, where he will serve as a Lieutenant in the Air Force. Wallace received his commission at the USAC after service with the ROTC. Parent-Teache- r Vice-Presiden- at the Brigham Young University was the dcstinction won by Florene Anger, senior coed of Bear River High School. The reading, entitled , "The Triumph of the Falcon" is the second such creative writing Florene has written. Last year she received an excellent rating at a region meet for Biblical reading. "Hagar. Daughter of the Wilderness." Florene began writing her winning selection some two months ago after she had found material for it in several stor-ie- s and poems. Milton Johnson, drama instructor stated, "It is not too unusual for a student to receive a superior rating but I believe happening when a lit student not only writes her Reading, but rates superior on it as well." Little Susie and Sherry Stokes, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Thayne Stokes were guests of Mrs. Vernon Stokes at a party given in toonor of Miss Leslie Ann Stokes on her fifth birthday Mr. and Mrs. Thayne Stokes went to Salt Lake City Monday to visit with Oleen Shuman at the Vets hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Preston Petersen and family and Mrs. Beth Petersen visited at Virginia, Idaho Sunday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph W, Steed. Miss Joan Jensen is spending the week in Salt Lake City with her aunt, Mrs. Merel Eskelson, who is ill. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Orsen Jensen took her to Salt Lake City Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Petersen and small sons Bryce, Wade, v and Leonard, visited Friday with Mrs. Eva C. Petersen on her 74th birthday. Return to Tremonton The Mark Hall family have moved back to their home in Tremonton after spending two years in Penrose. They will be greatly missed by this community. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Holt were overnight guests of his parents, Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. George L. Miller visited from Friday to Tuesday in Provo, Spanish Fork and Salt Lake City with their children, George and Neil and Mr. and Mrs. Thayne Pearce and family of Magna were Sunday guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Garland Puzey. They returned home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Smith were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Marcell Palmer of Salt Lake City. They also visited with Mrs. Campbell. Mrs. Crystal Nelson returned home Sunday after having spent three weeks in Huntsville with her sister, Claretta Muir. Mrs. Muir's husband, Frank, has been in the hospital the past two weeks. Mrs. John Payne of Howell brought Mrs. Nelson home Sunday. , Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Petersen of Brigham City were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Leak. Mrs. Newell Johnson and children are visiting with Mrs. Johnson's father, Wilford Miller. They plan to stay several weeks. Dixie Sue will finish this term of school at Thatcher. Thayne Stokes accompanied by Dee Leak made a business trip to Portland, Oregon. Tbey left Sunday and returned home Wednesday.
