MI&BEUS HEAR DISCUSSION OF U.S. CIVIL DEFENSE The P.T.A. meeting held at the school building Thursday evening was a big success according to P.T.A. president, Mrs. Mollie Hodges. The program was under the direction of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Bourne. Mr. Gund-erso- n of Brigham was the guest speaker and gave' a most interesting discussion on '"Civil De. fense". Lovely Christmas Carols were sung by the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade students. Light refreshments were served. Eighty adults and children were present. The Book Lore Club met at the home of Mrs. Mattie Bourne Wednesday evening. Mrs. Barbara Buchanan of Garland gave a most interesting review of Paul Gallico's book 'The Foolish Immortals." Tasty refreshments were served by the hostess to eight club members and two guests, Mrs. Minta Gam and Mrs. Buchanan. - ' Attends Funeral f Emery Hess spent several days of last week at Temple City, Calif., where he attended funeral services for hLs brother-in-laWilford Farnsworth, former resident of Fielding. Mrs. Thelma Bowen of Magna has been spending a week witj her mother, Mrs. C. O.Hendricks, who is very ill.
