Leon Halgren and Don were in charge of making arrangements for the speaker, and have been working on the possibility of organizing a chamber of commerce in this valley, under assignment from Rudy Miller, president of the Tremonton Businessmen's Association. Mr, Diamond told 'members that chambers of commerce have been organized very successfully in communities of this size, and can operate in agri. cultural as well as in industrial areas. It is estimated that the trade area population of the valley would reach at least 8000 persons, and by such an organization the needs of the northern part of Box Elder County could be served to better advantage than through the Businessmen's organization as it now exists. President Miller expects to appoint a committee to visit and study the operation of some smaller chamber' units in the surrounding area, and make defor finite recommendations action of the group, within the next few weeks.
