A reception honoring the young couple was held at the Clarkston School Gym Saturday evening, Sept. 18th. A beautiful Trousseau was displayed. Those attending the reception from Fielding were Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Scott, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Scott, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Allred, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Wood, Mr. and Mrs. Leo , 7 .A. Mrs. Frank Meldrum celebrat ed her eightieth birthday on Sept. 17, and was honored at a birthday dinner by her daughter, Mrs. Joe Burgess on Sunday Members of the family and near relatives were guests at the dinner. Allen of Tremonton, and Ross L. Mason, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Mason, took place in the Salt Lake Temple, with President El Ray Christiansen per forming the ceremony. Following nuptials, Mr. and Mrs. Mason were hosts at a dinner party at the Doll House for the wedding party. The following evening a love ly reception was held in Tremonton. The bride chose import ed lace and tulle over white atin with scalloped neckline ind sleeves for her waltz-lengtwedding dress. The veil was caught with a wedding band crown trimmed with babv medalion lace and pearls. Her bouquet was of Tal sman roses centered with white gardenias. Joan Archibald played organ music during the reception. Ronald ' Potter was best man, Reese and Fred Allen, with Boyd Mason, brothers of tly bride and groom acted as ushers. For her going away attire, the new Mrs. Mason chose black faille with tangerine accessories. After a short honeymoon in the Northwest they will make their home in Seattle, where his dental Ross will resume studies at the University of Washington, and Jaleen will be employed in secretarial work at the college. FIELDING MAN MARRIES IN TEXAS Mr. and' Mrs. William Penn Jackson of Memphis, Tennessee, announce the marriage of their daughter, Norah Ann, to Leon-arWillis Severson, son of Mr, and Mrs. Glen Severson of Fielding. The marriage took place at the home of the bride's parents on Saturday evening September 11th with the President of the L.D.S. Branch performing the marriage ceremony. The young couple are making their home for, the present at Corpus Christi, Texas where Leonard is serving with the U. S. Navy Air Force. d LITERARY CLUB HOLDS FIRST MEETING OF NEW SEASON J At their first meeting of the season sixteen members of the Tremonton - Garland Literary Club and six special guests were graciously entertained by Mrs. Dorothy Capener at her home in Garland. Delicious refreshments were served. The special guests were: Mrs. Ethel Peterson, Mrs. Emily JensenpMrs. Virginia Blackham, Mrs. Rcba 'Hards, Mrs. Mary Blackham, and Miss Dorothy a.Capener. The new officers are: Erma Summers, president; Vesta Fer and treasurer; ry, Sophia L. Taylor, historian and reporter; Inez Brown, assistant historian and reporter; Belle f the Literary Wood chairman Committee; and Marguerite Rich and Martha Stone members of the Committee. They will join their husband and father. Dr. HendriCK Versluis, who is working with the Health and Sanitat ion Department of the govern ment in Tehran, Iran. Making the trip by pne, the family will remain a few days in New York City, while taking required shots, then fly to Rome, then to Tehran. Thy expect to reach their destination in about a week, and will probably be there for two years.
