Tuesday will be "Shopping Night," in the business section. Stores will close at 6 p. m.. but will from 7 to 9 pan. for late shoppers. .Christmas Carols will be sung by choruses from the Bear River high school during the evening. It is also planned to have Santa Claus in town during the evening hours, and he will visit the different stores taking last minute orders for Christmas delivery. Christmas music will ring through the streets each day beginning Saturday from a loud speaking system at Jack and Pat's Radio Shop. Stores will close at 6 p. m. Monday and Wednesday and also on Christmas Eve, Thursday to allow employees to spend the evening with their families. re-op- I Proposed County Budget for 1954 Shows $17,521 Increase A budget of $333,126 for 1954 has been proposed by Box Elder County Commissioners. The budget will be open to criticism during a public hearing Monday, Dec. 21, at 10 a. m. in the county building. 1 The, proposed figure is above the 1953 budget, according to K. B. Olsen, county clerk. The proposed budget will be in Mr. Olsen's office for public inspection this weekend. Following the hearing Monday, the budget will be adopted. Department budget amounts were tentatively approved except for trimming the Sheriffs request by $2453, and increasing the Road Fund by $200 to care for hospitalization expen$17,-52- ses.
