They plan to visit relatives at Missouri, and Okla noma, and will also visit at New York and Washington D. C. They were accompanied by Mrs. Dorothy Burton, who will meet her husband, Elder Sterling Burton, who has been spending the past two years at Youngstown. Ohio. Elder and Mrs. Burton expect to return home by Christmas. Book Reviewed The Book Lore Club met at the home of Mrs. Helen Sever-so- n Wednesday evening. Mrs. Irene Peck reviewed the book "The Bridge of Toko-ri- " by James A. Mitchener. Mrs. Ruby Farnsworth and Mrs. Donnetta Petersen were welcomed as new members of the club. Refreshments were served by the hostess to eleven club members. The next meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Bertha Smith on December 16th. Bazaar Held The Primary Association held their Annual Bazaar at the Wnrd Building Wednesday President, evening. Primary Mrs. Roma Jean Bourne had charge of the evening's entertainment, which consisted of a program given by the Primary Children. Refreshments were sold. A large crowd attended and the evening was a big success. Phill Mason of Salt Lake City spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Thursday. "Anyone making a false statement to collect unemployment compensation is leaving himself wide open to a charge of fraud," he declared. "Our detection service is extensive, with a number of field repres entatives and investigators working to uncover fraud attempts." A spot check is made of all earnings declaredAnyone accused of fraud is brought before a hearing board at the employment office where the accused may state why he attempted fraud or made a false statement. Here it is determined whether or not the attempt was infentional If the attempt was intentional, the accused is turned over to the court for civil prosecution, and is subject to a fine of not less than $50 up to $250, or 60 days in jail, or both for each offense. el - S. CAMPUS A new life, uniform and campus are in store for 40 sophomores nursing students at Brigham Young University. Their training program will move from the Provo campus to Salt Lake City for training at LDS hospital and Primary Children's hospital. A program and informal re. ception in their honor will be held Friday at 7:30 p.m. in Joseph Smith building, under direction of Miss Vivian B. Hansen, director of the school, in charge. The students will appear in their new blue and white student nurse uniforms, replacing the green pinafores worn during freshman training. UTAH STATE FAIR ATTENDANCE DROPS, BUT REVENUE RISES Revenues from the 1953 State Fair,broke all previous records, j even though attendance figures' lagged slightly behind the 1952 fair, according to a report by fair officials. Attendance during the 1953 exposition totaled 210,787, a drop of approximately 6500 patrons from the record 1952 total. But new records were set in the numbers of display, commercial and industrial exhibits, and in the participation in the fair of groups and communities throughout the state. Elmer Hagloch, Logan Tremonton, a student at Utah State Agricultural College, was appointed to the regimental staff of the Army ROTC recent ly by the Department of Milit ary Science and Tactics. The regimental staff encompasses both Army and Air Force units and also the brigade of cadets. Mr. Hagloch will hold the rank of cadet Lt. Colonel.
