Tremonton SCOUT COUNCIL HOLDS LYNN WISE INJURED IN CAR CRASH BUSINESS MEETING The annual business meeting Lynn Wise, husband of Ray- - of the" Lake Bonneville Scout Council will be held in Ogden Sunday, Dec- 6, at 2 p.m. at the LDS Institute of Religion, Street Council Pres ident Rulon White announced. Featured speaker will be Vic tor D. Sharp, deputy Scout Executive for Region 12 of the Boy Scouts of America. Business will include a report from the nominating committee and election of officers and Executive Board members for 1954. Lorry E. Rytting has moved to Tremonton to fill this position. An employee on the city desk of the Deseret News in Salt Lake City for the past two and a half years, Lorry is a graduate journalism student of the Brigham Young University and holds a B. S. degree in that field. He with his wife, Gloria and son, Bryce are now living at 423 South 1st West in Tremonton. ola Miller Wise, is in a Logan hospital for treatment of injuries received in an automobile accident Wednesday evening at Logan. He has a multiple fracture of the knee, which will require an operation and severe bruises about the head. His companion, Sam Veltri, also of Logan was killed in the accident when the car in which they were riding was struck by a car driven by Walter H. Hain es of New York State.. Mr. Haines was arraigned in Logan City Court by Judge Jesse P. Rich on a charge of "Involuntary manslaughter" if CAROLYN J. PARKER WINS HONORS AT SPEECH CONFAB Carolyn Jensen Parker, a Brigham Young University speech student, won the first place trophy in senior women's oratory competition in the Western Association Speech Tournment in Fresno, recently. Mrs. Parker was one of 10 BYU students to attend. Entered in the contest were 320 students from 48 schools in 11 western states. Her subject was "Football and Karl," a discussion center ing on her brother Karl, who was named this week for football is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eph Jensen, TremonCalif-ornia- , all-sta- te honors-Caroly- ton. TURKEY SHOW SET NEXT WEEKEND The State Turkey show will be held Friday and Saturday, Dec. 11 and 12, at Hotel in Salt Lake City, according to officials. Allen R- Barfuss. 20. whose wife, Erma, lives on Route 1, Tremonton- Utah, recently joined the 45th Infantry Division in Korea. The first National Guard division to see combat since World War II, the 45th Infantry was federalized in 1950 and arrived in Korea during December 1951. It is nwo receiving intensive e training.
