We are going to Salt Lake City on Oct. 8 for U.E.A. Institute because we have been chosen to show our games that we play to all the teachers of Utah. We are picking out now the games we want to demonstrate. A school bus is going to take us down. We will sing songs on the way to Salt Lake City. We are taking some of our moth ers. We will see many things while we are down there. We will use the school bus to take us differ, ent places. We will go to see the Zoo. We will go through the State Capital Building. We will go around the Temple grounds. We will drive around the Children's Hospital. We will go t) "This Is The Place" Monument. We plan on eating lunch at Liberty Park. Most of us have never been to these places. Most of us have never been on a train, either, so if we can got a train leaving Salt Lake City about 4 or 5 o'clock, we will ride back to Ogden and our bus will meet us there to bring us on home. We are hapy and excited that we have been chosen to go down there. We hope we can put on a fine demonstration and make our teacher proud of us. Mrs. Ashton's Third Grade. We have to crowd around tables and sit double. Mr. Clark's Seventh Grade. Joy Hansen and Kathleen Morris Reporters. d; SCHOOLNEWS (I 1. 1953 At the first of the year some the students brought their hobbies. They were very interesting. Some of them brought rocks, dolls, shells, stamps, and other interesting hobbies. Some of the students didn't have a hobby and now they have started collections of flowers and leaves. Soon they will show them to the class. Every morning we have a news period. We learn a lot from it. In science we are studying about beavers. They are very interesting animals. We are making a booklet about them. For art we have pressed leaves to make spatter work designs. We think they will be very pretty. Hi llilllllHIIlIillllK bers that the time of year is here for all of us to check and see that our record books are complete and in order. Those, who are raising sugar beets, will soon be harvesting them. Therefore, it will be well to remember that in order to enter in the contest all your records must be up and your beets must be harvested seper-atelfrom your father's, either first or last. If your beets still have good green color in the leaves it would be best to lesvo them to the last because of the increased tonage to be obtained. When you are ready to harvest your beets you must notify your fieldman so he can in turn " notify the men at the scales, including a magnificent new version, so your beets will be properly of thefabulous weighed, and there will be no " slip up on their part. If the marks locating the boundaries on your acre have been destroyed, either notify us, at the Extension office, or one ' of the fieldmen and ' we will reset the stakes for you. The Annual Club Program will be held the last of October this year. In order to receive an award at the Achievement Program you must have your record books complete or, if your project is of a continuous nature, your records must be brought up to date.
