Peterson Unable to Fight Ronald Peterson, Thatcher, the Triple 'B' Club's AAU and Golden Gloves champion will be unable to fight Dave Hamilton in the main event bout because of a recently suffered head injury, but a capeable man will be present to take Peterson's dace. Local Firm Wins Contract For Howell Road Germer, Abbott and Waldron, local contractors were awarded, the contract for gravel surfacing of 3.5 miles of road between Howell and U. S. Highway 30, when the state road commission opened Wds Tuwday. Toe eon- - , tractors bid- - was $9UM. The engineer's estimate was $83,510. The second bid awarded was for the resurfacing of Tremon- - V ton's Main Street, a mile project which went to Gibbons and Reed, Salt Lake City. Their bid was $14,954 against the. engineer's estimate of 19,950. Kerr, promin- ent businessman and farmer of Tremonton has filed for state senator on the Republican ticket from District 2, of Box Elder County. Mr. Kerr who has been active In political circles the past fifteen years has served six terms in the house of representative during which time he wa minority leader three term majority leader one term and is at present speaker of the house. He also has served a term as city councilman. Mr. Kerr has also been active in civic and religious affairs In the community, having, served as a bishop, high councilman, as a counselor tn the Bear River Stake presidency and U now president of the South Bear River stake.
