Deputy Commissioner M. A. Snow, Department pf Public Safety, said the campaign is directed at reducing the hazard of excessive speeding in school zones before injuries and death result. The campaign that motorists are becoming lax in obey-- i n g the regulation 20 m.p.h. schoolzone speefd limit . Salt Lake City has for years used special officers at crossings during heavy pedestrian traffic load periods, and Salt Lake County recently took cognizance of the hazards by installing the same system. Although it is realized such a program may not be feas-abin all areas of the state, it is urged that each community study the local situation and take measures to do its best to reduce the school zone speeding problem. Ellis Anderson, 18, son of Mr. L. Anderson, Bear River City is completing his AF basic air- men indoctrination course at Lackland Air, Rorce Base, the "Gateway to the Air Force." His basic training is preparing him for entrance into Air Force technical training and for assignment in specialized work. The course includes a scientific evaluation of his aptitude and inclination for following a particular vocation and career.
